Gripen 4-1 Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 (edited) Already posted in the bug section, but did not get an aswer yet: If i am running in on an target with a CBU or an MK-82 the CCIP line/ cross is nearly horizontal. Did you set too much winds in this mission? It is nearly impossible to get a bomb on a target. Also if I use CCRP /Auto mode for the bombs, the are some hundred feet of the target. There is something wrong with too much winds / weather so the bomb drifts off. Tried the same with a training mission and the bomb is within a few feet near the target and destroyed it. Any ideas? Looking Glass Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 Hi, Sorry for late reply. We have experienced this from time to time. There was a bug around this issue. Could be NAV mode in use? Is it uncaged HUD? Can anyone chip in here?
Gripen 4-1 Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 (edited) No, no NAV mode active. I was 100% in AG mode. First thought: OK, maybe CCIP is bugged, so let's try CCRP. In CCIP I am not able to get the CCIP cross on the target, because it drifts so hard to one side. In CCRP I am able to get the diamond exactely on the line an release the bomb, but the the bomb drifts off some hundred feet. In DCS training missions the problem does not occur. Sad to say, but it makes the mission unplayable Edited May 29, 2023 by Gripen 4-1 1 SYS: II Asus X670E-F || Ryzen 9800X3D || Gainward RTX4090 || 2x48 GB Kingston Fury Renegade 6000Mhz || XPG Core Reactor 850 Watt PSU || Kingston Fury 2 TB NVME SSD || WD SN850 1TB NVME SSD || 1 x 500 GB Crucial MX300 SATA SSD || 2 x HDD 3TB || INPUT: II Thrustmaster F-16 & F-18 Stick on Virpil War BRD Bases || WinWing Orion2 F-16EX Viper Throttle Combo || WinWing Orion2 F/A-18 Hornet Throttle Combo (With Finger Lift) || WinWing Takeoff Panel II MFG Crosswind Pedals w. Looking Glass Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 After watching Torniquests excellent video here is a solution to the DCS F/A-18C Hornet CCIP, bomb aiming issue. - This seems to have fixed the issue for us but be warned it could be related to INS alignment during start up. Hope this helps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVHjdZsMRhA&ab_channel=TorniQuetHD 1
Gripen 4-1 Posted June 1, 2023 Author Posted June 1, 2023 We are not talking about the same thing. In the video the aiming line and the pipper (cross) is vertical as it should be and you can easily put it on the target. Winds and drifts are included in the calculation of the aim point (Continously Calculated Impact Point). That the bomb misses is an other problem. It works flawless in the DCS unguided bombs training missions, but in your campaign/ mission it seems that there are heavy side winds, because the aiming line drifts heavy to one side 45° or even more; impossible to get the pipper on the target. The point is: It works fine in other campaigns or missions but in your mission 2 it is impossible for me to get the pipper on the target, so I think this is a bug in the mission or campaign. Not sure what this could be im afraid. We have experimented with wind but the method above using GPS mode seemed to resolve the issue for us.
LiO177 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Hi ! I have the same problem exactly, in mission 2 and 3, can't aim correctly, so can't use bombs. Since I use auto start, I am thinking about ins alignement, but why doesn't it work properly ? will try with gps position as explained in the video and see if it works, but it is supposed to work with ins anyway. Appart for this issue, the campaign is fantastic, lot of work, thank you. 1
Looking Glass Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 (edited) Thanks for the feedback! - Afraid we still do not know what this is, maybe auto start issue as regards INS? We solved this by switching to GPS mode in CCIP, see video below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVHjdZsMRhA&ab_channel=TorniQuetHD Hope this helps Edited June 19, 2023 by Looking Glass

Depending on how you set up your mission/campaign, it could be that this leads to what users experience. Or it could also be incorrect setup by the user. Edited June 19, 2023 by razo+r 1

Is it before 1994? 1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Can you confirm this is the case? Pure INS navigation causes issues with CCIP in the current build. 15 minutes ago, Looking Glass said: 2014-2018 Thanks!
