This multiplayer mission takes 1.5 to 4 hours to complete for 1 to 8 players. The settings are up to the host. It has a lot of random flags to keep it changing each time you host it. Stay low until the Hawks run out of ammo.

SITUATION

ENEMY: USA tanks, sams and armor departing PL (phase line) BLUE for the EA (engagement area).

FRIENDLY: Russia. Retrograde / delay. The ATKHB (attack helicopter battalion) are tasked to conduct an area defense in coordination with the ground forces. The ATKHB will control its assets to cover the main body and rear guard friendly forces in retrograde from EA HIT through SLAM towards CRUSH. Mission success when main body arrives at NVRS airfield

EXECUTION: Convoy and ground units are in retrograde from the EA. Cover the retrograde units from air and ground threat as they move towards NVRS. You are cleared to engage EA NOMAD once the main body arrives at NVRS.

MANEUVER: At FAA (forward assembly area) assess direction of threat and move forward of RED LD (line of departure) to engage. Friendly units moving parallel to RED LD shall be guarded.

In multiplay you might get a message saying mission success at the start if you are a client. This happens in most online missions. Ignore it. It has no effect on the triggers. You also might get all the sounds going off at once when you join. That happens all the time in multiplayer missions, not just the ones I make.

Played it last evening with a few mates. We had a lot of fun and of course a lot to do....and :music_whistling:a lot of own wreckage.

Excellent mission KingSnake. I have received lots of positive feedback regarding this MP map. The only suggestion that I have received from players is to make the mission briefing more intuitive.

 

For a mission that takes 1.5 to 4 hours to complete phase 1 and phase 2 there is a 1 page brief that covers what you need to know. If it were a half hour mission it would fit into a paragraph. For realism the brief would be several pages long. I tried to make it much shorter. I also omitted the geo-political situation often found in briefings which has nothing to do with the simulation. People were asking all sorts of questions about things not in the brief so I followed the format of a real brief and tried to keep it as short as possible. Have a look at the real brief outlined below, its much longer and less intuitive. Plus I spelled out the abbreviations in the brief to help you get through it.

You can do it easily by yourself.

In Editor change one Ka-50 to player, 3 more to KI (average, high,...) and delete the others.

Save as a new file.

You will be ready in one minute.

No don't do that or you will mess up the waypoints. It already has a player with a wingman. Open up the mission in single player it will work as single player too. A better way is to host your own server in multiplayer and set it to LAN. If you do that you can respawn and start where you left off. It is the same as single payer except you can respawn. It won't matter which directory the mission is in, you can browse.

I was flying yesterday in my first multiplayer session with this missions. Very fun, lots of targets, very dynamic. Thanks!

I found an odd thing. Sometimes the message from trigger ONCE (phase 1 success) is displayed at the very start of the server, when someone joins. Is this intended to happen from time to time (random) or there is some fishy trigger out there?

 

Also a trigger I don't comprehend (well, today is the first day with the editor XD):

 

FRONT CONDITION (1HIT ATTACK MACK 6) is set to trigger around NOMAD. Also FRONT CONDITION (4SLAM OCCUPIED CHEVY 3) is set to trigger when around NOMAD. Shouldn't those trigger around HIT and SLAM respectively and not around NOMAD?

I made a post about the success message earlier in this thread on page 1. It looks like a flag issue for more than one of us making multiplayer missions.

 

Yes, MACK 6 should have been set to trigger around HIT and CHEVY 3 should have gone to SLAM. Good eye.

 

With 109 triggers I bet I missed a couple.

We are having issues connecting in MP in the mission. Myself can connect to ther server, 2 other squad mates simply can't....:joystick:

I don't think this is a problem with the mission. I have been running it for weeks on our server and have not had any problems like this. You may want to post in the multiplayer forums. They might be able to help you there.

Yeah, I guess posting in the proper section would help.... On the other hand, mission created by the guy that serves our squad are working fine, we have flown these with 5 pilots. It's just this particular mission; which is fine for the rest of the world.:joystick:
