dporter22 Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 (edited) I get the error below when attempting to update to the latest version. No Bitdefender, no mods, no changes to anything. Edited June 9, 2023 by dporter22
Flappie Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Error 23 means you probably have a disk or file system error. The next step is to run chkdsk on your DCS drive. Here's a nice guide from AVG: https://www.avg.com/en/signal/how-to-use-chkdsk-windows TL;DR Open a CMD window as Administrator. Run this command: chkdsk F: /f Does it find any corrupted sectors? ---
dporter22 Posted June 9, 2023 Author Posted June 9, 2023 Thanks, but it's an SSD, has no errors outside of this one, and has never had an error updating before.
Flappie Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 chkdsk works with any kind of drive, and as you may know, <profanity> happens. I cannot help you any further if you decide not to execute chkdsk, sorry. ---
Flappie Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Try this: right-click your F: drive, go to Properties > Tools, then click "Check...". If it doesn't find any error, try this: Delete your "/DCS World/Mods/aircraft/FA-18C/Missions/Training" folder. Run a DCS repair. ---
dporter22 Posted June 9, 2023 Author Posted June 9, 2023 (edited) There's no repair option in my Eagle Dynamics start menu, so I just deleted Mission 10 and the update worked. Don't know how to get the mission back though if I can't repair. Edited June 9, 2023 by dporter22
Flappie Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 BIGNEWY made a very short tutorial: You can skip the cleanup step if you like. 1 ---
