Armored_Sheep Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 I observe the controls in game (RCtrl+Enter). No matter which trim settings I use, I am not able to get rid of game setting a trim on pedals. I dont want to trim peddals at all and use force trim on cyclic. I fly with FFB joystick (Logitech G940) and I have pedals without FFB and springs.
firefox121 Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 (edited) If you have selected in Apache options "pedals without springs and ffb? in flight , despite you press the trim button and the trim red line at the indicators window, you will see that if you release the pedals and set them in other position, for example center, the white dot returns with you and does not stay at the red line indicator, so, is not really trimmed there. make the test, and you will see that pedals have the authority over the heli while you keep them at the position you force with your legs, at the moment you change the position the heli will response to the new input, so if you center them, the helo will start rolling to his natural behaviour. And the white dot will move like the real position. If you force "instant trim at pedals (ffb friendly) at options, the white dot will remain at the trimmed position , even if you center the pedals, but when you use again them , the will start acting from the trimmed position. My point is that with the last option (pedals without springs and ffb) selected, if you have not springs, leaving them where you want the pedals will act as you want you can see the white indicator where you left the pedals and the red no changing at all till you press/release force trim again to set your stick . So the indicators that have control over the apache surfaces are the white ones......(the red ones are to remember those who have not ffb joysticks where they left his controls) in my rig I also fly the apache with a sidewinder ffb so...I have no need of the red cross as my joy also remains where I left it, I am thinking on removing the springs from my saitek combat rudder pedals and see if I can handle them. ED Team Lord Vader Posted June 12, 2023 ED Team Posted June 12, 2023 Hey @Armored_Sheep Like @firefox121said, make sure you go in your "Special" options and check what you have selected. But I think you're talking about something else. I seems you are pointing that the aircraft seems to "lock" the trim position for the rudder with the blue brackets on the axis visualizer (ALT+Enter)? Is that it? Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
Armored_Sheep Posted June 26, 2023 Author Posted June 26, 2023 (edited) In actual version of the beta the peddals do not need that much input as in previous builds. I have stick set to use instant trim (I have FFB) and for peddals I have set the third option which should be not affected by trim. When I observe controls (RCtrl+Enter) I see that they respond to my inputs as expected. The only remaining issue/glitch is that as I press trim button the red asterix mark does move on pedals axis, but it has no effect. Edited June 26, 2023 by Armored_Sheep
admiki Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 It's not a glitch. It is just showing what position FMS is using for its references. Trim options in DCS are there just to be able to interface with vast selection of peripherals that are out there. Trim options do not affect FM in any way.
