I am unable to use castle left or right to soi radars or TPOD while in WSO seat with a player pilot. Works fine when flying by myself. I have tried resetting my saved games folder and disabling all mods but this didn’t fix anything. Aircraft is set to equal responsibility from mission editor. Is there something I am missing or is this a bug?

The WSO uses the coolie hat not castle hat don't they? From the manual:

Quote

In the back seat, use the COOLIE SWITCH on the left and right hand controllers. Left hand controller controls the left MCPD and left MPD. Right hand controller controls the right MPCD and right MPD.

To take control of left MPCD, push the COOLIE SWITCH on left HC left.
To take control of the left MPD, push the COOLIE SWITCH on left HC right.
To take control of right MPCD, push the COOLIE SWITCH of the right HC right. To take control of the right MPD, push the COOLIE SWITCH on the right HC left.

I must be missing something because my WSO is unable to take full control of the WSO displays. Coolie switches are bound correctly, but they don't do anything.

We're in multiplayer.

I'm in the front seat, WSO in back.

Everything works properly in the front but the WSO doesn't see anything I'm doing with my displays on his displays, but I can see what he does with some of the display options on my displays. For example, when I change the elevation on the A/A radar it doesn't change on his displays, whereas if he changes the elevation I am able see it on my display.

Or he can control the TPOD and I can see him moving it on my display, but when I take control and move it he doesn't see the TPOD moving on his display.

Or I can slew the A\A TDC, but he doesn't see the slewing, and he's unable to take control of the radar to slew the TDC.

How does the WSO select his displays, take control, and how do we enable display sharing between the front and the rear?

I haven’t tried this yet. So please forgive me if this is incorrect but I thought in the WSO keybinds it’s a depress of the switch to get the radar and Tpod to work. I’m not sure if after that’s done if you can then watch what the pilot does from the backseat.

It looks like multicrew is currently unplayable. Almost nothing seems synchronized between both players.

There is still work to be done on this to reach heatblur level (fully functional at day one as a reminder).

Once work done it will be amazing !

Try going into your saved games/DCS open beta/Config. Backup your inputs and options.lua files and then delete the entire config folder.

relaunch the game, quit and then copy your backed up inputs and options.lua back into the new config folder.

This has resolved multicrew issues so far for everyone I’ve talked to who has run into them. Just be aware you may mess up your inputs and settings if you do not backup the files described.

Have had the same experience here - resetting the config folder seems to have sorted out the MP sync issue. Just be aware that some items (especially on the UFC) still don't sync correctly i.e. TACAN

I have the problem when switching to the WSO in single player. Cannot take control of the radar with RHC Coolie Right x2 - no matter what kind of physical controller i program it for. And it does not matter if the F-15E i fly in is a "Player" or a multiplayer capable jet.

Any one who CAN control the radar in the back while flying as single player?

Finally made it work. I think it was a double bound key on the controller, or that I tried to use not castle but the other f#@$er I can't remember the name of now to the right instead of to the left (RHC) to take control of the A-G radar.

New discovery in Multiplayer...

I was WSO with a buddy in as pilot. I had control over the radar and made a map, did some other stuff and then came back to look at the radar and make a new map. I could not take control over the radar no matter how much i tried. Every time i selected Coolie switch to take control i would print "RADAR IN USE" and i could not force the take over.

After a lot of time i tried to reprogram all my displays. I had A-A radar in slot 1 on the MPD and A-G in slot 2 and then HUD in the thired slot. I then tried without A-A radar in slot 1, and Voila!!! i could now take control again.....

Apparently you can not have A-A radar in one slot while using A-G radar in the other in MP.

That's likely because you had either:

 - a lock on the A/A radar
 - activated GUNS mode
 - activated an AUTO ACQ A/A mode

All those prevent taking control of A/G radar, showing "RADAR IN USE" and preventing force control taking with a second press. It's independent of which page is on which display. The two latter also prevent taking control of the A/A radar from back seat

That might very likely be the course instead. Thanks Kercheiz
