Hi

One of the features that kept me flying il2 series for like 4-5 years almost everyday was the Hyperlobby. Maybe it's just me, but I think that creating such a tool makes a game really re-playable. Hyperlobby now is still very active (just for il2, but you can see everyday peaks of 1000 players there).

The lobby in DCS is very basic (a list of servers). It could be expanded with a little chat, and furthermore with mission slots like in HL. Sadly, HL development seems stopped and the forums are full of bots spamming :(

Do you know any other aplication like HL that people is using? do you know if Hyperlobby is going to be upgraded to accomodate DCS? or, is ED going to upgrade a bit the built-in lobby?

BTW, ED could send the dev of HL a copy of DCS, he might get HL upgraded, check this ( http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1499 )

Thanks in advance

If Hyperlobby goes the way of Kali (no more development at all!) then we will be left with whatever game developers include with the sim/game. Not that the Coop setup in BS is bad, it isn't. It is just lots of us liked kali and then hyperlobby. :joystick:

Looks like the last update was in November..not sure what year though:

Next version of HL is done. Lots of changes and one new game ...

Changelog:

In Hyperlobby, server can preset theater, game type, number of max. players and all settings known from the Rules Of Engagement screen. These options are then fixed in Falcon so that you can be sure that these advertised settings are true when you join a server.

- Fixed bug aborting game search task when a folder with no users permision is found (on NTFS volumes).

- Fixed problems with refreshing "Games In Progress" slots.

- Fixed problem When user save max players server options with incorrect value.

- Game search can be forced by clicking the Right mouse button at the "Connect" button.

- Added support for mouse wheel. This feature can be turned off in hlpro.ini file. This feature is not avalaible for windows 9x/ME users.

- When is chat scrolled up, is automaticaly stopped. Scrol down enable chat again.

- "Better" namimg of tooltips, menus and window titles, improved connection messages and error reporting.

- Changed development enviroment from VB5 to VB6. Users using Windows 9x/ME must download and install "Visual Basic runtime 6.0".

You can use Xfire. Xfire is a pager that will let you join the games that your friends are in. It works well and is always being updated.

Post your xfire names and you can add friends

They should just liscense gamespy code. Many people use it, it's proven and been around for quite a while. Many many games use this.

Things I like are the sizeable columns, searchable criteria, favorites etc. All missing from the Blackshark multiplayer server browser :/

I know they think that only 10% of us play online, but please consider that maybe more people would play if it were easier to work with on the interface and not all of the people who play online nescesarily play on the internet, lots of squads play on LAN.

At this point there is less than 1 page of servers so it's not too much of a hassle . This could change drastically when the retail box version come out though.

We can also create a Chat channel named " Blackshark "

In there we can meet , chat , give info and talk about the game.

In there whe can also give a server list if ppl want to !

You can create a channel in a channel named after your mission so ppl can join if they want to , So they can c what the mission is al about before even joining.
