martinistripes Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 I've been playing with a human CPG recently on custom built missions that I've kept simple to allow us learn the systems. Quite frequently (I'd say a third of our play throughs) the laser range finder stops working for no obvious reason. I've gone to my CPG's PC, checked over things myself and can't figure out why. The right bumper on his gamepad is bound to RHG Trigger (2nd detent) and the aircraft is armed. No diagonal cross is showing on the TADS and no range information. And this is regardless of firing off to an angle or directly in front of us. We basically have to exit and restart when this happens. Any suggestions on what it could be, and what else we can do to fault find? Valve Index | RTX 4080 (Mobile) | i9-14900HX @ 2.20 GHz | 32GB RAM

Please verify the LT switch on the right TEDAC grip hasn't been set to the M position for Manual. The LRFD can't fire when the laser spot tracker is enabled. Unfortunately, there is no indication that it is enabled in Manual since in Auto mode it would be doing it's 4-bar scan. In Manual mode you can still move the TADS around like normal, but the LRFD is disabled. 2 Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. DCS Rotor-Head

His two week trail runs out tomorrow, but he's said he's going to buy it. He's not a simmer at all, and it's the first time he's tried DCS. Say's a lot for the module. Hello @Martinistripes hope you are well, I have readed your thread and if your problem is not solved I can try to resolve it you just need to do is check gamepad settings and ensure proper key bindings, verify that the aircraft is armed correctly, reset or recalibrate the TADS in the game settings, test firing angles to identify any consistent triggers.

No the track replay system is an old debug tool and DCS has evolved a lot since then. It is on our list to improve but it is not something that will happen soon. thanks 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
