Chaprot Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 I've noticed that after a certain time, say +/- 20 minutes, the laser attached to the shkval or the gun in automatic mode loses its telemetric function while keeping the lock on the target, making the vikhrs unusable and the gun firing at random. Could this be a bug or a simulated overheating of the laser - there's no system alarm?

Chaprot Posted August 1, 2023 Author Posted August 1, 2023 I'm halfway satisfied with the answer, but I haven't found any information on this subject in the flight manuals . There is indeed an EKRAN fault: 44-35- ОТКАЗ ЛР РЭП LWS- FAILURE LWS (Laser Warning System) all channels failure. Strange that this is not mentioned.
Solution Schlomo1933 Posted August 1, 2023 Solution Posted August 1, 2023 Switch only the laser on if u need it. Fire the vikher, after impact switch it off again . if you need to fire more then one Vikhr , wait for the countdown reach zero in the hud, before firing the next vikhr 1 1
Chaprot Posted August 8, 2023 Author Posted August 8, 2023 In the absence of a clear answer on the subject, this is indeed the technique I use to save "laser" time. 1
Kappa-131st Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Even if you respect the count down, laser will burn after 24 vikhrs+ Vikhr firing (with one supply & reload)..
