Mad Dog 762 Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 I do not know what happened with the last update but the Strike Eagle handles VERY differently on the ground! It is extremely touchy and very difficult to not over correct. I increased my rudder curve from 20 to 60 and its still hard to take off!! What ever you guys did in the last patch, please PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS!!!!! 1 System: Intel Core i9-9900KF @ 5 Ghz, Z-390 Gaming X, 64Gb DDR4-3200, EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3, Dedicated SSD, Varjo Aero, Winwing Orion & F-16EX DCS Modules: A-10C II, A/V-8B NA, Bf-109 K4, P-51D, P-47D, F/A-18C, F-14 A/B, F-16 CM, F-86F, JF-17, KA-50 Black Shark 3, UH-1H, Mosquito, AH-64D Longbow, F-4E Terrains & Tech: Afghanistan, Caucasus, Persian Gulf, Normandy, Syria, Nevada, The Channel, Combined Arms, WWII Assets, Supercarrier
quailman84 Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 I am experiencing issues too. I've crashed on several takeoff attempts since the update due to apparent increased rudder/nose wheel sensitivity. My successful takeoffs have been rather ugly.
VMike Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 Are you both using the paddle switch to disconnect nose gear steering above ~80 knots? I too find the nose wheel steering to be a bit sensitive but minor corrections below 80 knots and then disconnecting to steer only with rudder for the rest of the takeoff roll makes it much more manageable. 1
quailman84 Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 I am not disengaging nose wheel steering, since I was not aware that it could be disengaged. I'll try that, but this was not necessary prior to the update. 1
quailman84 Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 Tried disengaging nose wheel steering with the paddle switch... Works fine. Thanks for the help.
VMike Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Glad to hear it! To be fair others have said they are noticing differences in the steering too so I think it will be improved in the future. But with a decent curve for the rudder and the NWS disengaged it feels alright to me.
DSplayer Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Notso did say there appears to be a bug with the ground handling that makes takeoffs and landings rather squirrely (hopefully I'm not reading his message out of context): 1 Discord: @dsplayer Setup: i7-8700k, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB 3066Mhz, Saitek/Logitech X56 HOTAS, TrackIR + TrackClipPro Mods I've Made: F-14 Factory Clean Cockpit Mod | Modern F-14 Weapons Mod | Iranian F-14 Weapons Pack | F-14B Nozzle Percentage Mod + Label Fix | AIM-23 Hawk Mod for F-14
draconus Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 You can play it however you want but it's not correct procedure to disengage NWS. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
