Nealius Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 (edited) In contrast (pun not intended) to all modules' targeting pods where FLIR brightness/contrast/gain is stable regardless of where you point the targeting pod, the projected FLIR in the Harrier, Mudhen, and Apache will fluctuate wildly depending on where you're looking, and require a third hand to constantly adjust the HUD/IHADSS image while your other two hands are managing throttle/collective and stick/cyclic. Is this normal? If it is, why are the targeting pods not affected? Edited August 6, 2023 by Nealius
BigBorner Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 I’ve experienced the same in F-15E, but not apache.
Moxica Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Same goes for the Gazelle camera/monitor. Looks like some function is set to "auto" like auto exposure in a camera.
