murdoc311 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I downloaded the Black Shark Affinity tool and it works great with framerates but it has caused an odd side effect. When using the affinity tool I can not use the F12 key to recenter trackir. Anyone know other option for centering the trackir in-game, or a fix?
glottis Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 That's a strange one - I use TrackIR4 and the affinity tool and I don't have that problem... (sorry I realise that's not helpful).
Feuerfalke Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 You should check your key-settings in your TrackIR-options for the profile loaded. I see no reason why Affinity should block out keys. At least mine does not. rapid Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Correct you should do as Feuerfalke says. murdoc311 Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 checked it out and its still set to F12 for center view. But when in game it just takes me to airport view...
Feuerfalke Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 (edited) Well, murdoc311, that is a different problem than what you described initially. ;) F12 is the key for the airport-view, so unless you are running a game with views limited to cockpit, hitting F12 will center your view and put it next to the airfield. That has nothing to do with the Affinity-Tool, but with F12 being mapped in the game as well as in TrackIR. There are basically 2 options: 1. You can remap or remove the mapping for Airfield View ingame or 2. you can open your loaded profile for Black Shark and check out the keys again. Behind F12 for center there is a box labeled "trap". If you click that, the F12 key is ONLY used for centering your TrackIR and can no longer be used for other things as long as that TrackIR-profile is active. If that is okay with you, that is the easier and cleaner option of course, but you should be aware of the side-effects, especially when you map "center TrackIR" to other keys, which would be a third option. I have mine set to Numpad5, which means when I have "trap" enabled, the Numpad5 key is blocked and will not respond in any application as long as the profile is active. Not in the chat, not in Word, nothing. ;) Edited March 2, 2009 by Feuerfalke MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD

There is some type of conflict when using the affinity tool.
vCUJOv Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Are you alt tabing to set the affinity after starting the game? I had the same problem, but only when I was alt tabing to set the affinity manually. Now I run the affinity tool first then I start the game and had no problem since.
Prophet Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I have found that sometimes the shift control and alt keys get 'stuck'. So if you actually alt tab to the TIR software when it is running, and try to rebind the F12 key it can show CTRL+F12 and such. I have found that while in game when it doesnt work I hit ctrl F12, shift F12 and the alt F12 and it will start working.
Jesse Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Are you running TrackIR or DCS with administrator privileges? Try running TrackIR with full admin if you haven't tried yet. 1

Fakum Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 If it helps any more, I have also binded my TrackIR keys (center, precision & pause) to my "Scroll Lock" key for center, L-ctrl+ scroll lock for precision etc, then programmed my Cougar hat to control so I dont need the keyboard.
