MAXsenna Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Yep, all well now me thinks regarding file access ... but i am missing a lot of modules and other, like bought helicopters, and ww2 assets. f.i. i tried to install a Harbor Tug UK civillian ship on the Thames River in the mission editor but all i could select is Tanker Seawise Giant. The ED site is very unclear about how to reinstall and work with my 'bought' stuff . .Well, out of the box, if one doesn't change anything, and install using the installer, again without changing anything. Things are setup correctly and just works. So, if one deviates from this, one cannot expect ED so have solutions for whatever happens. If you did re-install, (which is the same as a full/slow repair, especially if you choose the remove extra files. They won't be deleted, but placed in a backup folder for easy retrievals). The core should be fine, and you can try to rename the DCS folder in Saved Games, and you have basically started from scratch.Cheers! Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
jackd Posted August 18, 2023 Author Posted August 18, 2023 Nope, installed all new, i had it with the fixes LoL. i de-installed all (made backups of my personal files first). then used the web installer, and then the stuff i bought. but f.i. the CE2 plane i bought, but was missing, i fixed that now. But i could not find various ships etc from the combined arms and ww2 assets packs yet, that in the ME.
Ironhand Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 (edited) Any modules purchased through the DCS website should be listed in the module manager to be downloaded and installed. Any mods would need to be downloaded and installed again, unless you can find them somewhere in the path “F:>Saved Games/DCS.OpenBeta/…” or wherever you were instructed to place them. EDIT: If you are missing pieces of purchased modules, do a slow repair. That has fixed a multitude of oddities for me in the past. Ironhand Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 That’s something you’d have to ask ED about unless you bought it twice. 1 YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1...CR6IZ7crfdZxDg _____ Win 11 Pro x64, Asrock Z790 Steel Legend MoBo, Intel i7-13700K, MSI RKT 4070 Super 12GB, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM 32GB.
Osita Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 How I keep my saved files organized... \[user_id]\Saved Games\DCS\Missions\[map]\[type]\[mission name].miz So for example... \osita\Saved Games\DCS\Missions\GGA\Combat\bellyup001.miz(note: GGA="Georgia"="caucasus map") or \osita\Saved Games\DCS\Missions\UAE\Training\islands.miz (note: UAE="persian gulf map") and so on. Track files are similar: \[user_id]\Saved Games\Tracks\[player]\[map]\[type]\[track name].trk This has one extra field called "player" to allow for if you have multiple players on the log book. 1
