Whenever the AI is tasked to attack, it will first decelerate (using air brakes if available) and immediately accelerate again (using afterburner if available) to ultimately attack with exactly the speed it had when the attack task was given. The deceleration and acceleration is completely unnecessary. This pretty annoying AI quirk exists probably since the Lock On era.
