Gunfreak Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 So I did a pop up bombing not wanting to get shot down by AAA I floored the throttle and apparently passed Mach 1, my bomb naturally went long. But my question is should they even safely drop at that speed. The second is during refueling my surviving wingman just flew under the tanker, the boom went down. But never connected and so the tanker and f16 stayed like this for 5 minutes, asked the F16 to rejoin formation, no luck only when I asked it to RTB did it fly away. Is this a know bug? F16 or KC135 bug? i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 3090, 64Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
MAXsenna Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Try "abort refuel" next time, and then try to refuel again after the the wingman has rejoined on you.

I think that in reality there is a speed limit for a F16 loaded with bombs to subsonic speed. Also there is a G limit. As long as this is not modelled you can drop bombs at super sonic speed without damaging the jet. Not really sure how to answer the question if the bombs should drop safely at super sonic speed except that it is unrealistic.

Well with too high speed bombs /fuel tanks can do strange things like tumble (meaning the tail slams into the wing/pylon it was just dropped from) I didn't have many Gs (far fewer than you have in a toss bomb situation) but i was going supersonic. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 3090, 64Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
