SalakauHeadman Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 i downloaded the echo19 sound mod for the f14 and there was an installer bat file and i accidentally installed without backup. so i want to revert back to the original f14 sounds but since i accidentally did not backup there is now no way to uninstall or revert back to the original sounds. i have tried deleting the f14 module and reinstalling TWICE but the sound files are still the mod not the original. deleting the mod files dosent seem to work as it just makes the plane become silent instead of automatically reinstalling missing files. really not sure what to do anymore.
Solution Vakarian Posted September 7, 2023 Solution Posted September 7, 2023 Running the repair should redownload all modified/missing files and restore original functionality 1
SalakauHeadman Posted September 7, 2023 Author Posted September 7, 2023 Just now, Vakarian said: Running the repair should redownload all modified/missing files and restore original functionality will i have to redownload all liveries? sorry new to this cus i aint ever screwed up this big before
Vakarian Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 You shouldn't need to if they are placed properly in the saved games folder. There will be a prompt "do you want to delete these files". If it contains just liveries, select no. 1
Art-J Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 @SalakauHeadman Repair command only reverts all original files in DCS core folder to their stock form. If these custom liveries you mention did not overwrite any original ones but where some extra content instead, repair won't even touch them. Key phrase - "in DCS core folder". Repair doesn't affect Saved Games folder on your system drive, so IF the Echo9 mod placed any stuff over there (I don't know this particular mod so can't confirm), then repair won't help unfortunately and you'll have to try to find and remove offending files manually by trial and error method. 1 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
