Hi all, on the A10C module I used to have a set of the Saitek Pro pedals, and while they were a bit wobbly until they broke, at low speeds and during takeoff I was able to control the ground steering without any issues.

However with the MFG Crosswind pedals, despite going to controls > tune axis and setting it to have a curve with very low sensitivity around the center, if you just touch the pedals the steering really dives off in that direction

I've tried reversing the curve, and played around with it all, but it seems to have no effect in game, almost like it is being overridden by some other setting. In the air its fine, but on the ground its awful

I can only see one rudder axis that applies to both nosewheel steering and the rudder; i know you also have the separate toe brakes, but this is the rudder axis causing issues

Has anyone seen this and has some workaround?

Cheers

Are you positive it's not the brakes causing your issue?  I'd unbind the brakes and try that and see if it's still oversensitive.  It's possible you're applying a touch of brake that causes it to turn.  In which case add a bit of dead zone on the brakes instead of the rudder.

There is no reason that the changes in tuning shouldn't work.  Make sure you are on the correct aircraft and in SIM mode, not "easy", bindings.  Also, make sure that the BUTTON bindings (as opposed to the axis bindings) for the rudder are cleared.  DCS can automatically assign things initially which can mess with you.  If it's assigned to button too it will give you full deflection at slightest touch.  Use whatever you have bound to "Shows controls indicator" to display a graphic that will show what's happening when you touch it.

Unfortunately definitely not the brakes. However later on today I will do the 'shows control indicator' thing to see if that helps me work out what is going on

I uninstalled the MFG  control software, unplugged everything, restarted everything and went back through reinstalling. After doing that I can now get the axis tune to affect the pedals and it is so much better. The Crosswinds are so much smoother and positive than the Saitek ones and having a correct input curve has made everything better

the only thing i noticed with my MFG Crosswinds is that after a reboot (or first start of the game, cant really tell) i have to move them to the maximum, then the axis works. otherwise it will set output to max at the slightest movement

I've noticed the same. After just starting DCS, I move them to their max across all axes, and sometimes notice the first pass that the plane's controls hit their max at about half the movement of the peripheral. But after that it "registers" the full travel of the pedals and brakes and is fine for the rest of the session.

Also make sure none of your axes are double-bound to more than one input.

You can change that behavior in the MFG software.
