Rakete Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Hi there, I normally creating waypoints for targets near my steering points ia the CDU Button "?x" and then update the coordinance in my A10c II. Yesterday I was on a multiplayer serer running the Pretense campaign with a lot of pre defined waypoints for eery player (70 + Bullseye). In this scenario I am unable to copy a waypoint to a new one. There is a minus after the question mark and CDU throws an error when I press the OSB button. Image is attached. Does this mean that there is no space left for another waypoint? But there should be >2000 slots aailable (as Bullseye is somewhere around 2040).
Solution ASAP Posted October 14, 2023 Solution Posted October 14, 2023 You can only edit the 50 waypoints in the mission database. The remaining 2700+ waypoints are loaded into the system but you cannot manipulate them. I haven't encountered the ?-1 before, but if I had to guess I'd say that it would overwrite waypoint 1 in a similar fashion to how your markpoints will cycle from Mark Y back to Mark A. 2 1
Rakete Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 Hey, thanks for this information! If I press the OSB Button it just raises an "Input Error". So it makes sense what you said but you're unable to overwrite the waypoints that way. I stick to edit one of the Waypoints to my needs but it's a bit ugly... I wonder why the mission builder (I mean the guy who creates the mission) did not use Waypoints above 50? He may also limited to the first ones... Thanks for the solution!
jaylw314 Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 IIRC, the waypoints over 50 are pre-programmed system waypoints from the navigation database, like airports, georefs and such, and weren't meant to be edited by the pilot 1
