This is has always been an issue and ive never figured it out but I usually had 90% success rate with the mouse working with Vr. When it didn't I could restart a few times and usually get it.

Now with 2.9 I can't seem to get the mouse to work ever. If I pull the HMD off I can use the mouse with the HMD on it does not respond.

This is with Hp reverb G2 and dcs with the MT tag added to the shortcut.

Thanks!

I have seen this occur randomly with the previous versions and had to restart everything to get it to work. I haven't updated to 2.9 yet.

Two possible solutions:

a) DCS is not out of focus and

b) you tried to switch with Windows + Y.

I did get it to work by using the win y solution and some trickery.

To get this to work I have to first alt /tab to another program so DCS is out of focus then with the head set on win y and ill see the mouse cursor move on the out of focus dcs screen. Then alt / tab back to DCS so its in focus and the mouse work but it also appears to crash maybe 60% of the time within 30 seconds of getting the mouse to work.. But when it doesn't crash it seems fine. I think this will do for now until they get it ironed out a bit more.

This is a WMR issue. There is manual and an automatic mode for the Win Y thing. Perhaps switching the mode is an option for you.

I hated this Win Y mouse problems while using WMR too.

From one of my other posts: So this is what I do every time I start a (usually like 3 hour 😏) VR session:

  1. Reboot PC
  2. Launch WMR by plugging in Reverb
  3. Set the center using WMR
  4. Optional - Ensure OpenXR toolkit is up
  5. Launch VoiceAttack (I cannot use VR without it!)
  6. Launch Focus Guard (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3330231/)
  7. Launch DCS

I hardly ever have a centering issue inside DCS after all that. Now, if it crashes I could just launch DCS again, and it is usually centered correctly 9 times out of 10. But, because it crashed, you may want to clear the buffers, and the fxo/metashaders folders and start over.

Also, concur with firefox121 regarding lighting. The Reverb (and a lot of other HMDs) rely on external lighting to function correctly.
