Gun Jam Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 This is has always been an issue and ive never figured it out but I usually had 90% success rate with the mouse working with Vr. When it didn't I could restart a few times and usually get it. Now with 2.9 I can't seem to get the mouse to work ever. If I pull the HMD off I can use the mouse with the HMD on it does not respond. This is with Hp reverb G2 and dcs with the MT tag added to the shortcut. Thanks!
plott1964 Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 I have seen this occur randomly with the previous versions and had to restart everything to get it to work. I haven't updated to 2.9 yet. 1 PC specs: Intel Core i7-13700K [Raptor Lake 3.4GHz Sixteen-Core LGA 1700] (stock clock)/64.0 GB RAM/RTX 3080 GPU (stock clock)/Windows 10 Home/Multiple M.2 SSD Drives/T.Flight HOTAS X/HP Reverb G2
Phantom711 Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 This happend to me occasionally. G2 as well here… Have you tried starting WMR independently before opening DCS? Usually this fixes it for me usually. vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
Grennymaster Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 got also an issiue here, non of the contollers gets regoniced in DCS. but my leap motion is shown, even when its of in spezial??? never had that before
Gun Jam Posted October 19, 2023 Author Posted October 19, 2023 Yes I normally start WMR first then launch DCS. This order no longer helps Thanks!
Motomouse Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Two possible solutions: a) DCS is not out of focus and b) you tried to switch with Windows + Y. VIC-20@1.108 MHz, onboard GPU, 5KB RAM, μυωπία goggles, Competition Pro HOTAS
Gun Jam Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 I did get it to work by using the win y solution and some trickery. To get this to work I have to first alt /tab to another program so DCS is out of focus then with the head set on win y and ill see the mouse cursor move on the out of focus dcs screen. Then alt / tab back to DCS so its in focus and the mouse work but it also appears to crash maybe 60% of the time within 30 seconds of getting the mouse to work.. But when it doesn't crash it seems fine. I think this will do for now until they get it ironed out a bit more.
Motomouse Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 (edited) This is a WMR issue. There is manual and an automatic mode for the Win Y thing. Perhaps switching the mode is an option for you. I hated this Win Y mouse problems while using WMR too. Edited October 20, 2023 by Motomouse 1 VIC-20@1.108 MHz, onboard GPU, 5KB RAM, μυωπία goggles, Competition Pro HOTAS
plott1964 Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 (edited) From one of my other posts: So this is what I do every time I start a (usually like 3 hour ) VR session: Reboot PC Launch WMR by plugging in Reverb Set the center using WMR Optional - Ensure OpenXR toolkit is up Launch VoiceAttack (I cannot use VR without it!) Launch Focus Guard (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3330231/) Launch DCS I hardly ever have a centering issue inside DCS after all that. Now, if it crashes I could just launch DCS again, and it is usually centered correctly 9 times out of 10. But, because it crashed, you may want to clear the buffers, and the fxo/metashaders folders and start over. Also, concur with firefox121 regarding lighting. The Reverb (and a lot of other HMDs) rely on external lighting to function correctly.
