hermes7226 Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Hello, please ensure that your module is compatible with the virtual joystick program. The thing is that I often use DCS on a laptop on business trips, and I don’t have the opportunity to carry a joystick with me. Your F-14 is not compatible with virtual controls, which is the reason I did not purchase the module. By the way, all the latest modules from ED support virtual joy.
julian265 Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 I don't own the F14, and didn't realise that it doesn't work with vjoy. Are you sure it's a limitation of the module, and not something else? I haven't seen any other DCS module ignore vjoy, since it should just show up as a normal game controller. I use two vjoy 'devices' to convert control types (eg encoders -> axes, hat switch -> zoom axis etc), so would not buy the F4 if it does not allow vjoy devices. 1
hermes7226 Posted November 2, 2023 Author Posted November 2, 2023 Take the F-14 for a trial for 2 weeks and check it out. When connecting vjoy, the plane constantly stops responding to both the joystick and even keyboard commands. The version of DCS that I use is stable, clean, no mods have ever been installed. I have many modules from ED and they work with vjoy absolutely stably, from third-party manufacturers, I have a Gazelle module, which is also stable. I really like the F-14, but the lack of vjoy support prevents me from purchasing it. I know that many users use vjoy one way or another and I would like the F-4 to interact normally with this software
Bealdor Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 I'm using vjoy (+UJR) to emulate my sim racing pedals as rudder pedals in DCS and they work fine in the F14 as well. Not sure where the "vjoy not working with the F14" stuff is coming from. 2
Super Grover Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 @hermes7226, thank you for your feedback. We don't access any input device directly - every input we receive comes from the DCS API. I mean that, from our point of view, every joystick axis is the same. Could you send us your log file from the F-14 with your vjoy, please? Have you informed Eagle Dynamics about the issue? Of course, if there is any type of bug preventing you from using your vjoy, we will do everything we can to fix the issue. 1 Krzysztof Sobczak Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/

Hmm funny, I work with vjoy settings for the F-14 and it is properly displayed in the "keybind" section 1
