transparent components like the landing gear knob

I've just realized I'm running out of the semi-transparent filament. I don't like it and I don't plan on buying transparent filaments ever again so I thought maybe I could put the reminder of it to good use.

Do you guys have any ideas on semi-transparent controls found in century series US aircraft? F-4, F-5E...

I'd start with the landing gear knob but I only found a cylindrical version. At least on thingiverse. Does anyone have a more round shaped model?

The Warthog project uses the knob in question but I can't find any STL files for it. I recently printed a 3D Benchy model and lit it up. It turns almost white-translucent. Close to perfect. So I'd obviously like to test the filament out on the knob.

I made mine in two halves and used low-density concentric infill.  I'll grab a photo in the morning.

Old post, but have you considered making a mould either directly from the printed part or AS a Print and using a nice clear epoxy?  Bit of learning curve, but a good clear poured epoxy is really good and clear.

A legitimate option but I can't spend the time on it on the first iteration of the pit.

Hi,

I just came across this post, so a bit late. However, Ive been messing about with resin printing for clear parts and have had some success (if you excuse the air bubbles) on my gear handle prototype.

If you send over the files i'll happily print one out for you.

What aicraft is your lever for?

Initially I was not planning on doing the LDG module but then I realized taking of and landing is 90% of what I do in DCS.

You're lucky that you spend 90% taking off and landing. I dont survive long enough to land!!
