bonesvf103 Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Does anyone know what the light signals on the fuel pods on the S-3 and the IL mean/tell you? Thanks. v6, boNes "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day. I would have 80 pounds of flesh to eat and a pair of glasses to start a fire." --F/A-18 Hornet pilot
virgo47 Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 If you mean Il-76, then look at the manual Su-33 from page 139 on. Just a few snippets: This is about your distance from the tanker - obviously, green is good. Additional signals are: No idea about the S-3. In DCS, the S-3 has the later version with 3 lights. The light position and signals are incorrect in DCS. Here's how it should work: The green light on the upper left indicated that fuel was flowing to the receiving airplane. The yellow light on the lower left, when steady, indicated that the store was ready; when flashing, it indicated that the receiving pilot had pushed the drogue/basket too far forward and fuel flow to the probe had stopped. The red light on the upper light turned on when there was a hydraulic failure in the store so fuel couldn't be transferred. bonesvf103 Posted November 12, 2023 Author Posted November 12, 2023 Thanks! That is great info. I looked at my video again and yes, the lights are wrong in DCS. I plugged, saw that my internal fuel was increasing, but the red light on the upper right was blinking signaling even though I was taking fuel. v6, boNes 1 "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day. Flappie Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 (edited) Devs showed me many pictures with the lights as they are in DCS. And, here's a video showing the green light: (2:30) I have not been answered about the lights sequencing yet. Edited November 16, 2023 by Flappie 1 ---
