Scrub Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Hi, I'm doing a lot of Aerobatic maneuvering in flying formation on the Mirage F1, and sometimes we have to use airbrakes. Their extension and retraction is pretty slow so i wonderded if it was the same on the real aircraft. So i searched for videos on yt where i can see the airbrakes in action on the aircraft. On the videos i found it seems like the extension/retraction of the airbrake are like 2.5x faster than on the DCS mirage F1. Here is my little 2000's movie maker video edit that show the difference of time of extension/retraction of the airbrakes. So the real time for exension/retraction sems to be around 1.5/2 seconds Is it possible to adjust the airbrake reactivity to be more realistic in the future ? Regards, Scrub 2 2
Bremspropeller Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I was having a similar feeling. Please note, that a significant part of the sequence in the real jet video is masked by the air intake, so your timing may be off by a second. I think it's safe to say, nonetheless, that the in-game movement is around half the speed of the airbrake on the real jet. 1 So ein Feuerball, JUNGE!

Yeah, i'ts hard to find good videos about F1's airbrakes, i'ts the only one i found. Looking back at the video i still think that the time for the deployment/retraction sequence is around 2 seconds, or even a little less, even with the adding of a good delay on the part hidden by the air inlet. On this video, you can see that the start of the deploying sequence (masqued by the air inlet on 1st video) is REALLY fast 1 1
Bremspropeller Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Yeah, I think 2-2.5 secs is reasonable. Thanks a bunch for looking through the videos and finding good examples! @fausete pls gib 1 So ein Feuerball, JUNGE!
Loukuins Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 I searched yesterday in the manual if it's written anywhere but I couldn't find it yet, I will take another look tonight. My Setup : i5-4690 3.50GHz + 24GB RAM DDR3 1600MHz + MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC + 2 SSD + 4 HDD + Oculus Rift CV1 + TM T.16000M Hotas Super Etendard for Life !
fausete Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 It seems there was a problem in which the speed for max dynamic pressure was being used for the whole range. I'm working on correcting it. 5
PLUTON Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Yesterday I watched several videos on YouTube of Mirage F1 from around ten years ago and I noticed that Mr Frotter is right, the airbrakes of the F1 take 2a3 times less time to deploy than in DCS. It's not serious but it had to be said. ps: I did not post the videos because they are easy to find on YouTube. Have a good flight everyone.
Solution fausete Posted November 8, 2023 Solution Posted November 8, 2023 Fixed but I don't think it will make it to the November OB. 2 7
