Great work on this, I am talking with Thrustmaster and I am hoping to work with them and our team to get this more built-in. I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain here and there if needed. Thanks!

Hi NineLine. Any word/ETA on getting this built into DCS? Specifically for the A-10C II and Warthog.

If you let me know what you expect the LEDs to do with the A-10C and Warthog I can look at adding it for you.

Thanks your script/program is great, and I was going to use the Warthog 5 LEDs for indicating degree of Speed brake position as you suggested. I was just wondering before I downloaded your script/program how close ED was to putting control of the 5 LEDs into a feature that could be enabled directly via the in-game DCS Control settings menu.

I have an installation question. Your instructions say the folders Hooks and dcs2target are to go into "%HOMEPATH%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts"

On my PC the "Scripts" folder is not in Saved Games but "Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts"

Should I put them here, or create new "Scripts" folder in the "Saved Games\DCS folder"?

Create a new Scripts folder if it’s missing from saved games. 👍

Yesterday i got the Thrustmaster Viper TQS and running with your script.

Thank you Slughead.

Btw, is there a way to test all the leds of the Viper TQS?

With the Warthog Throttle module, in the TARGET program, you could adjust and turn on/off all the leds.

Reason for this question is, the button  ACT/PWR is not lighting up on the Viper TQS, but ingame it is.

Yet all the other buttons are working as it should.

That’s a limitation of the Viper TQS and explained in the first post. If I remember correctly, each of those switches only has one led in and so it isn’t possible to fully mimic the real aircraft/simulator. Notice the Low/Alt indicator has both illuminated but not in the sim. I have coded the Act/Pwr switch to illuminate when there is activity.

It’s a pity that Thrustmaster went to great efforts to produce this throttle but chose not to put todo led’s in these switches.

I do have another TM script that will cycle through all the LEDs when DCS connects and disconnects. If you like, you could give that a test.

Maybe they will add those todo led's in the next Viper TQS model.                        (in near future i hope😄 )

I am interested in that other script that will cycle through all the led's.

If the led beneath that button doens't work, than i can return it to the shop.

Hey Slughead

after recent 2.9.6 update and following patch, running the scripts causes crashes in DCS for me I wanted to know if it's something that only I experience or if it's a universal problem

I’m fairly sure it is running without causing any crashes for me. I’ll double check and get back to you.

As this uses the export lua scripts the only issue it can cause DCS is lagging/stuttering or other exports to fail. Possibly a full crash if the code was really bad, but unlikely.

Any other issue you have is not going to be caused by anything using the export lua.

I can confirm that I do not experience a crash. You should remove all mods and scripts, do a repair, and then start adding everything back one thing at a time.

I get this:
Hot plug Events
Disable hot plug in your CONTROLS section.

Not really sure if it's relevant or not but here is the log

That’s a known issue by ED hence they recommend turning it off. It only affects DCS if you have a device that sleeps and wakes regularly which then causes DCS to briefly pause while it enumerates the device. There’s a thread on it somewhere. Not an issue related to DCS2Target though.

The second error is not DCS2Target related.

What module are you using?

i was flying in a viper then I jumped in a UH-1 and after while it crashed

Hmm. Ok. I’ll need to check to see if it ignores the UH-1. I can’t see the UH-1 providing the same data hence the empty payload error. I’ll also check to see if I need to add some error handling.

Could you disable the dcsdtc mod to verify that’s not the cause of the crash?

yeah sure, I'll disable DTC to see if it happens on it's own

Slughead,

Thank you for this, I been trying for the last six month to get this to work. I Finally gave up I could not for the life of me get it but I happened to look again last night and, The step by step helped me in to figure it out I did lose track when you said to run it. I thought it needed to be from the script editor. That's where I misunderstood, once I ran it through the GUI it works great. I been taking picture of it and posting. Someone should make a YouTube video on this. Thank you again for this as it now make the purchase that much better.
