Cornbread Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I just started using Tileproxy and it's AMAZING. I quickly threw together a movie. I just got Acceleration and REX, and it's just unbelievable! Will make a movie soon. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
element1108 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I do love these textures, but I wish they had seasonal influences as well. I like to do my flying with current weather and current seasons so flying in the middle of a blizzard with summer green or missing the fall colours is a little crappy. But OUTSTANDING textures wow. Flight Sim community is extremely active. There are some outstanding payware planes out there that really take the whole general aviation simming to the next level. A2A's P47 Razorback with acusim is one example. :)
crazysundog Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I bought REX and A2A's Corsair, i have to save money for the Accusim razorback....expensive but really looks worth it; any thoughts?? Also, I bought a new harddrive just for FSX, the addons and tileproxy, reinstalled and followed the guides here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/forumdisplay.php?f=53 ...and my FPS in FSX has almost doubled!! It is a massive PITA to install properly, and restart your comp after every addon is added, but what a huge difference!! I haven't reinstalled tileproxy yet cuz im enjoying the 60fps, but will soon...
hitman Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I downloaded this, and the help file, but of the love of me, it just wont load. I keep getting an error proxyUser: Volume listing failed with error: 0x80070002 proxyUser: . Making sure SuperperFetch service is not running proxyUser: Connecting to the filter proxyUser: ERROR connecting to filter port: 0x80070002 There seems to be a few posts relatng to this on the net, but no soloutions Anyone offer up some help? You didnt set the correct service up. serice 1 is acme global, which is an example. Set it to 2, 3, or #4 service. 1

I haven't reinstalled tileproxy yet cuz im enjoying the 60fps, but will soon... It was the first plane I bought (i just got FSX so yeah I've got a lot of catching up to do). It's an outstanding aircraft and if you get it with the acusim pack it's even better. It is a bit pricey, but if you have some money to throw away on FSX additions it's a great one. The sounds are outstanding and you the level of detail in the various systems of the P47 is done really well as well. There is a lot more to flying these old school warbirds than you would imagine heheh. If you can wait for a sale it should definitely be one plane that ALL warbird fans get. (NOTE accusim is a must for the complete experience...I purchased the package..)
crazysundog Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Yes i've read the accusim is a must...so you can buy the P-47 first, and then upgrade to accusim? I also bought the 3D lights package from A2A, and it is quite cool...i can now see street lighting from a distance away, nice effects, you can choose the type light glow, etc... All in all, I spent about $70 in addons and will be spending another $70-100 on a few fsx addons(and $120 for a new harddrive); I would hope that some enterprising people see the market for some DCS addons!! @ Oban, Hitman is correct, change the service you are trying to connect to!! I use #2 for any north american destinations!
element1108 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Yeah you can actually upgrade which is nice! The add on's are really what keeps that sim alive! It's crazy though that they're selling some models for more than the sim, but some are really outstanding!
john_X Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 can it be done to lock-on too? if yes, is somebody interested in doing it?
hitman Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 can it be done to lock-on too? if yes, is somebody interested in doing it? It cant be done. MS FSX supports a vast majority of 3rd party addons; LockOn does not. Not to mention the terrain isnt exactly as detailed as the basic FSX terrain is.
digitalJE5U5 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 OMG! That is so insanely beautiful, I may just quit my job (After I upgrade my computer) and give FSX another try.

You should ask google instead of us.

PlainSight Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 i am also having this problem could some one please explain to me how to set up the source ? If you're using Vista, try booting it without blocking unsigned drivers. Press f8 while boot and select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Cornbread Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 (edited) Yeah, PlainSight has it right. Also, I recently posted my own TileProxy video, for those of you who might be interested. Edited September 3, 2009 by Cornbread forgot to add the link, duh [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vekkinho Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Nice video Cornbread, I really like the detail of that terrain texture. However I'm not really convinced with FSX engine, I mean visibility is too great to be real. Terrain texture sharpness is same no matter of distance. Plus I see a lot of terrain shimmering at 1:36. Why is that? I don't like FS-X because it lacks 3D objects (buildings and trees) Big time. But imagine the FPS with these on!!! Your most modern rigs would stall! LOFC is now a old simulator, we can say outdated but still it's terrain graphics and general feeling of air humidity and environment looks stunning on modern age rigs...To be honest, each time I fly IRL I feel that general visibility is no greater than 20 nm and lowest setting in LOFC is 30km so I like to keep it lowered at it's lowest slider setting of 30 km during mission editing. It's most reallistic, isn't it?! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
element1108 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Depends where you fly I guess, cool clean crisp winter days you can see for 75 km's no problem. But I agree with what you're saying.
PlainSight Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 The permanent solution for unsigned drivers has been found: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=dseo You just sign the tileproxy.sys, which is in C:\Windows\System32\drivers, and run the "enforcer" in test mode. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
