Pre rendered frames?

Not really a bug, but the internet seems to be divided on this one. What's the best setting for "virtual reality - pre rendered frames" in the NVCP?

I hear 1 gives less latency but 3 is supposed to decrease stutters. I get stutters with either - sometimes - so I cannot figure out.

As you have it written pretty much, it comes down to wn to preference, I prefer 1 because I don't like input lagb IN VR especially in the pattern around the boat....
