Boot Up Issues

Hey all,

First off, I'm not a computer guy.  I've been using DCS Open Beta (Not Steam) for several years with no issues, but starting about a week ago, when I open DCS, I get the checking for updates info, the 15 years of DCS splash screen, and then it loads to a black screen and stays there indefinitely.  Task Manager shows DCS is NOT 'not responding'.

I've tried uninstalling and re installing and the problem persists.  Other games work just fine.  Computer works fine otherwise.

Help.  I miss you all.

Delete your options.lau file in your /saved games/dcs/config folder and see what happens, another option is to rename the entire saved games/dcs folder. If that doesn't work try loading it with the ST version of DCS World/bin/dcs.exe.

Another thing to try: add your DCS main folder (/DCS World/ or /DCS World OpenBeta/) as an exception in your antivirus software.

If nothing helps, please attach your dcs.log (from Saved Games/DCS.../Logs).

Deleting the options.lua worked.  I have no idea wtf that is or why it mattered, but you were spot on.  Thank you so much.

The options.lua file stores your graphic settings among other things. Chances are one of the settings got corrupted for some reason.

Thanks for your feedback. 👍
