So I have been playing dcs world for 2 yrs now. SO far i have learnt the Jeff and uh 1 , above all that i still struggle to find time to enjoy dcs world . I recently decided to visit the old relics of ED and i found the original black shark from 2008 . From what i was impressed was that it had a simplified avionics mode which basically made it a nearly arcade game and it was so fun. I request the ED team to please release this same mode for dcs world keeping in view the limitations of the game engine.  i have posted this question in so many forums and everyone is toxic about it.

this video from glowingAmraam shows the simplified mode beatifully......................

I want an ED developer to answer my question. thanks in advance

The game flight and avionics mode is no longer included in DCS modules. I don’t think it was used enough to justify the extra work to include it.

Why would they, though?

Game flight mode is still there in DCS, although ED has been considering removing it, as it seems to be causing more harm than good.

They decided to remove the avionics one last year or so for the same reasons so it's unlikely they'll ever want to develop something similar again.

I still don't know why they won't add it. Like it's not causing any harm to them. It was present in black shark, why not here too.

It's code that needs to me maintained. That combined with limited use is probably why it was removed.

ED has a planned MAC product that is aimed at providing a less complex DCS experience, but it has long missed its original target date.

It’s worth noting that MAC (Modern Air Combat) is still supposed to be more complex than game mode, akin to the Flaming Cliffs aircraft ie the F-15C and Su-27 etc. Game Mode is entirely arcade style whereas Flaming Cliffs still have realistic systems, just simplified.

Well those flaming cliffs 3 controls could work too for other planes. They aren't that hard though.

That’s essentially what Modern Air Combat is supposed to be. That level of fidelity applied to the other DCS modules, as a separate game.

So basically you are summarizing that it isn't possible for other dcs modules outside of flaming cliffs 3. Man this sucks. I have no problem with the current fidelity but sometimes I don't play dcs because of lack of time. I just stare at it in the Desktop. This sucks though.

Thanks for the clarification

What is it that is taking you the most time? FF shouldn't really take any more time commitment than FC beyond maybe the learning stage. Start up can be automated or skipped. You can jump into the action anytime with proper mission design, or taking control through an accelerated track. If time is the real obstacle, then I think you can get around it even without a simplified mode.

I mean like I usually get around 3 hrs for gaming. I sometimes play less demanding games like War thunder and others. But sometimes I just want to get into the skies in dcs or the enigma cold war server. That's when the problem arises. I have learned the jf 17 and uh 1 and I start them pretty quick. I don't have any problems but since playing black shark 1, I still can't get that feeling of arcade off my head

There will not be more FC3 simple-system style planes added to DCS if that’s what you mean.

That was my point, but I think I might just adapt

Well you can fit DCS into your life by having different goals for short or long sessions. Short sessions for practice and training and longer ones for things like DLC campaigns. There’s no shortage of stuff to learn and practice so short sessions are easy to fill. As far as fidelity goes, I don’t see much difference between FC3 and full fidelity, a long mission in either is going to take the same amount of time.

Admire it. Sometimes long missions feel boring in Fc3 modules where you basically stare at things but they go pretty well with FF because you're just there clicking all these buttons
