Japo32 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) Hello! With the new FCS the way to make IFF is with the Link mode in future, but for now we have to go to gunner seat, Store the scaned icon on FCR or TSD, store it, and slave to the TADS to see it. Would it be possible to add a function in George menu to Slave the TADS to the selected T01, T02.... T0x that is selected please? That way we as pilots can create the target points and tell George to aim for them, even having laser missiles. Thanks! Edited December 20, 2023 by Japo32
Golan Trevize Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Came here to write about this, good to see I'm not the only one. My thinking was that George should auto slave to the current FCR target under the following conditions: George is directed to have no weapons WASed. Pilot has selected the FCR as sights. Pilot has selected TADS as acquisition source. The pilot has scanned and have an active target. Maybe there needs to be a timeout for George to stand down. 30sec after the last scan? Would also be nice, if then telling George to lase the target, we could also tell him to store the target. Using the fire authorization command, while nothing is WASed would command him to store.

There is already a command for this. Regarding other George features, many are being considered, but I have nothing new to share in that regard. 1 Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. VampireNZ Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Bump to this. As a new adopter of the Apache I was surprised there is no way to just say "Hey George could you slew the TADS over to WP04/PLT ACQ point etc and have a look/scan for targets etc? I mean really? I don't want to be jumping back and forth just to move the TADS around - pretty sure the Pilot could just request the CPG to do it IRL? Even with the current Mod available to map the SLAVE button etc to the back, it only slaves to the CPG's ACQ, not what you select as the ACQ point in the back. It is also super-clunky having the only way to direct the CPG to targets is pointing your IHADSS vaguely in the right direction and commanding a search. Just a simple 'Slave TADS to Pilot ACQ and Search' option would solve everything. Major PITA and a real roadblock to flying the Apache from the back, forcing you to wear both hats which is just a little jarring especially when new to the module. Vampire
