Karim123 Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 (edited) Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to report a persistent issue with frame rates since DCS version 2.9.1.48111 Open Beta and DCS 2.9 in general, specifically concerning the Targeting Pod (TGP) and the Mavrick seeker camera when flying the F-16. Prior to this update, I was consistently achieving approximately 105 frames per second (FPS) without the TGP and the Maverick seeker. However, as soon as I activated these features, my FPS dropped to around 80-90. know to maintain a FPS of 105-100, I was forced to lower my graphics settings. In the current version, I am experiencing an even more severe issue. When I use the TGP and the Maverick seeker simultaneously, my FPS plummets to a dismal 50-45. I don't what might cause this problem as the fps was constant before. I also tried decreeing the res of the displays from 1024 every frame to 512 every frame but unfortunately it did not do anything. This is causing significant performance issues and negatively impacting my gameplay experience. I hope that this information is helpful in identifying and addressing this issue. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Karim RTX 3050 I5-11300H 32 DDR4 RAM Edited December 31, 2023 by Karim123

Karim123 Posted December 31, 2023 Author Posted December 31, 2023 (edited) I already used repair option a couple of times, but it did not seem to do anything. I am not quite sure what do you mean by a track is a screen recording of the problem or copy from the file called track in the saved games. I will post a log and track if it is not what you want tell what you want in details. I also have problems sighing into the game it says logging in and keeps tiring and then says site is not working I posted a log of file of this problem. 4YA_Cau_PVE2_V2.71[02_JUN_SCT]-20231229-015253.trk dcs.log dcs.log.old Foothold_Syria_1.0.9-20231231-022400.trk autoupdate_templog.txt Edited December 31, 2023 by Karim123

You renamed the saved games\dcs folder then repair? Word of note. You never have to reinstall DCS. Repair does it. It will not fix saved games folder. Karim123 Posted January 13, 2024 Author Posted January 13, 2024 I tried running the repair with the changed name but also nothing seems to change I tried lowering all graphics option to low and dlss to medium and still I am getting the same fps especially when using the T-Pod or on the airports.
Solution HansPeter1981 Posted January 20, 2024 Solution Posted January 20, 2024 Hello. Don't worry about your DCS Install. I also have noticed massive impact on performance since late 2.8 & beginning of 2.9 while using Targeting Pods or TV Cameras especially with with flatter angles that allow a lot of Trees and scenery to be rendered in the MFD/TV Screen. It can easily half your frame rate and in extreme cases (most often found in the harrier) get you single digit FPS. Addressed this before and it has been addressed on rare occasions. Not to sure where the problem is buried but hopefully with Vulkan it will go away or getting finally attention and is being fixed. 1 My System specs: Cpu 5800x3d liquid cooled GPU 7900XTX Ram 64GB 3600mhz cl16 Motherboard B550M MSI, Windows 10 PRO on NVMe Drive, DCS on its own SSD, Monitor Philips 32" 4k curved adaptive Sync framerate capped at 59fps, Trackir 5, VKB

Additionally, I would like to mention that I have noticed some wired frames-per-second (FPS) drops in some areas of the Caucasus map. For instance, when I approach an Un surrounded runway, the FPS drops to 20 (meaning there isn't a train or anything else using resources to cause the FPS to drop), or when I open and close the F-10 map, the FPS drops to 30, requiring me to minimise the SIM and then open it again to get the FPS to return to normal. I hope when Vulkan Api comes it will solve these issues. Edited January 20, 2024 by Karim123
