I’m sure G is possible from 9.12, needs just imperial instruments and wing tanks if we’re modeling before TACAN/VOR/radio/IFF upgrade.

Not sure any documentation of AS models are available?

UB/GT is possible, but there is definitely not sufficient demand as standalone module. Would need lots of resources with second cockpit and new 3D model from midsection forwards. I suppose it could be part of a MiG-29 2 upgrade, but ED has shown they aren’t too excited about including training variants in any of their modules

Personally, I think the MiG29K (naval variant) would be pretty cool. Especially considering that the MiG29K would be used with the existing Admiral Kuznetsov carrier; which I also believe is enhanced via the Super Carrier module (?) and might even see further fidelity enhancements if DCS got a Soviet/Russian carrier based jet. And, lastly, with the MiG29K we would have a counter to the Cold War F14 tomcats.

But, first and foremost, the intended MiG29A needs to be released. But maybe in the distant future.

While it would technically be possible to do G variant (with NATO bits) I think in terms of avionics , K is absolutely out if reach right now otherwise we would be flying it.

This was the last time we could land MiG-29K on a carrier:

Yep, I don't mind original 9.12 and possibly would also be happy with MiG-29KVP experimental one, however proper K was derived from M so not going to happen before Flanker D or Frogfoot A (although NineLine already said Su-25 it ain't possible).

Lets wait for DCS: Flanker 3.0 😉 in my dreams at least 😉

Personally I cannot understand why people are so fascinated with the MiG29G. Who wants a Westernised MiG; other than Germany at the time and for obvious reasons.

Because it's one of the FC3 options, and also what Poland had been flying until recently, before giving them to Ukraine. The pre-NATO German variant would have been on the frontlines of a Cold War gone hot, and NATO MiG variant would train with Western jets pretty often. At the same time, it's not that different from the 9.12 we're getting. It's worth looking at as an expansion.

Polish Airforce used a mix of original 9.12 (export variant for Warsaw Pact), ex Chech Air Force (exchanged for W-3 Sokol) and ex-German ones. Most of the aircraft were uplifted / upgraded to be relevant for NATO (Poles gave it the M designation) and only some of them were given to Ukrainian Air Force. Rest of Fulcrums still operate from 22nd Tactical Aviation Base in Malbork awaiting phasing out by FA-50PL aircraft.

I think it's more likely that we'll see an FF Su-33 than a naval MiG. While the MiG-29K is either an advanced modification or a prototype, the Su-33 is basically just a navalized Su-27S, with very few additional systems that could render the whole thing too classified. If they can manage to make a Su-27S, then a Su-33 makes sense to include with the same module, or at least one developed in parallel.

Given the "G" is already in FC3 I can see it being an additional option. Granted it is a bit of a botched G with only the HUD and voice warning system being changed but if they already have all the voice files required then why not.

I really hope this happens. It is so close, I don’t care about after they added the NATO radios and IFF, but I don’t really know how long if at all that happened after the instrument/VWS system change

Waiting for the full reveal of the planned features. Until then one can hope. 😉
