SWAR1 Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 I am having constant crashes and have tried everything I can think of and follow online. Any help would be greatly appreciated. dxdiag.txt dcs.log dcs.log-20240115-195824.zip
Slippa Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Was running a repair one of the things you’ve already tried?
hornblower793 Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Do you run an Overclocked graphics card? If so, it might be worth reducing the overclock a bit Looking at the 0x887A0006 error in your DCS log it could be this, or you have a corrupt install (but I am assuming you have run DCS repair) Windows 11 Home ¦ Z790 AORUS Elite AX motherboard ¦ i7-13700K ¦ 64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 memory @ 5600MHz ¦ Samsung 990 Pro 1TB SSD for OS, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD for DCS ¦ MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio 24GB ¦ Virpil WarBRD base with VFX grip, Thrustmaster A10c and F/A-18 grips ¦ VKB Gunfighter Mk4 and MCG Pro ¦ Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle ¦ VKB STECS Throttle ¦ Virpil TCS rotor base with Shark and AH-64D grips ¦ MFG Crosswinds ¦ Total Controls Multi-Function Button Box ¦ Pimax Crystal
SWAR1 Posted January 15, 2024 Author Posted January 15, 2024 yes and I searched for extra files also then cleaned

SWAR1 Posted January 15, 2024 Author Posted January 15, 2024 so rename options.lua and then delete Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenXR\1\ApiLayers\Implicit? I'm not the best with this stuff so, just want to make sure before I do something stupid...lol
Flappie Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Start with deleting the registry key. If it exists, it should be enough. ---
SWAR1 Posted January 15, 2024 Author Posted January 15, 2024 C:\Program Files\OpenXR-Toolkit\XR_APILAYER_MBUCCHIA_toolkit.json won't this delete openxr toolkit from dcs though? I will try it, just confused lol
Flappie Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 (edited) Like I said in the other thread, you can save the key before deleting it. Edited January 15, 2024 by Flappie ---
SWAR1 Posted January 15, 2024 Author Posted January 15, 2024 So far this is the longest I have played after deleting the registry key without a crash. Looks like it worked! Thank you!! The only thing I used the toolkit for was the shaders and color adjustment. Not necessary but, was nice
SWAR1 Posted January 17, 2024 Author Posted January 17, 2024 I am still getting a crash, not as often so maybe it is another issue? dcs.logdcs.log-20240117-234511.zip
Flappie Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 Now the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED error comes first. I consider this a progress. Let's see if these solutions can help: ---
SWAR1 Posted January 18, 2024 Author Posted January 18, 2024 (edited) Noticing technicolor 3 is also causing micro stutters. Don't think it is causing my crashes but very noticeable when switching color grading off. Edited January 18, 2024 by SWAR1
SWAR1 Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 looks like I got lucky and slow repair fixed it now onto my micro stutters...lol thanks again 1
SWAR1 Posted January 20, 2024 Author Posted January 20, 2024 (edited) I was doing great until now, when I hit the ground it crashed this time. This is what I had for logs. How do you know what error to look at? dcs.log dcs.log.old no zip file Edited January 20, 2024 by SWAR1
rob10 Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 The A-4 mod (which you either have or have remnants of still installed) could be causing you issues. Try uninstalling it.
SWAR1 Posted January 21, 2024 Author Posted January 21, 2024 (edited) Taz1004_UI_TextSize this is the culprit. Only crashes when it is active. Edited January 21, 2024 by SWAR1 1
