mehksauce Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 is there any way to turn this off? i hate how it looks, i know that f18 has this option so i wanted to ask if this is also possible on the hind? 1
AeriaGloria Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Nope. I find it very realistic with the pre rendered ray tracing 1 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

I find it very realistic with the pre rendered ray tracing that's unfortunate, i dont have a good pc so im force to play on very low settings, the reflections are baked in and it look so horrible. Perhaps ED can add the options to the hind similar to the f16,f18,etc Edited January 18, 2024 by mehksauce 2
zero2005 Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 Baked in reflections need to die a horrible horrible death, or be optional. They look even more awful in VR than flat panel. 4 System: Intel 14700k on ASUS Tuf Gaming z790 PLUS, Arctic Liquid Frozer II 360mm AIO, 64gb ddr5 @ 6800mhz//28-39-16-38-70, Gigabyte 4090 Winwing Orion2 F-15EX/F-16EX combo, VKB T-Rudder Mk.IV, TM Warthog (Shelved) 2x 256gb Vertex 4 SSD's, 2x 1tb Sabrent NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD's, 1x 4.0tb Silicon Power NVMe, 1x 4tb Seagate HDD VR: Quest 3 (Current), HP Reverb G1 (Shelved)
PawlaczGMD Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Yes, I hate all baked-in reflections. They just don't hold up, especially in VR. And so they decrease immersion rather than increase it.
randomTOTEN Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 I loved baked in reflections and need to stay in as an option. 1
PawlaczGMD Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 As an option - sure! But it doesn't work for everyone, depends on hardware, settings, lighting conditions.
JetCat Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 (edited) Making glass a bit more "glassy" is a beautiful graphics effect and gives a more immersive cockpit feeling. I have seen the Apache had more reflections and glass-feeling in it´s early release day videos (even the glass in the middle, between the two cockpits was visible), but all these in my opinion great looking glass effects from the older Apache vids from 2 years ago are now almost 99% removed. I also haven´t noticed any glass effects like for example the F-16 has inside the Hind cockpit canopy. But these canopy effects look really good - especially when having a bit of gold or otherwise coloured tint, so I too think these awesome baked-in glass effects of cockpit canopies should be an optional ---> ON feature for people who like that.
