maxTRX Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 I guess this is supposed to be an improvement. Instead of ships popping into view at extremely close range they 'zoom in'. Anyone else noticed? It looks weird in VR in low level flight over water. 2
AlpineGTA Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Yes, I've noticed ships doing this on the South Atlantic map too, so it's not unique to the Syria map. 1 i5-11600K CPU, 64GB DDR4 RAM, XFX Speedster MERC319 AMD Radeon 6900 XT, Oculus Quest 2, HP Reverb G2

nighteyes2017 Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 today i noticed this for the first time too. I looks horrible. The ships suddenly appear and 'grow' from the water. Something to do with LOD settings probably. 1
Flyingfish Posted March 2, 2024 Posted March 2, 2024 I've also noticed this 1 RTX 4090, AMD 9800x3D, 64GB Ram
maxTRX Posted March 11, 2024 Author Posted March 11, 2024 It startled the heck out of me when I saw it the first time, in my peripheral vision. I there is no plan to fix it, can we at least have an option to disable this part of scenery?
maxTRX Posted October 30, 2024 Author Posted October 30, 2024 Any improvements in the newest patch (30Oct24) ?

Nope, still some spooky ship zooming going on in 2.9.9.2280 I´ve never seen it on other maps. It gave me a bit of a jumpscare as I first thought I was going to collide with this rapidly "approaching" ship. But then it suddenly decided to zoom back down to normal size again as I passed it. Quite a disturbing sight in VR, and does nothing good for immersion! System: Asus z270 A Prime, Intel i7-7700K 4.8GHz, 32GB DDR4, RTX2080, Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD. Valve Index VR, TM Warthog Throttle & Grip, Virpil MongoosT-50CM2 base, TM TPDR Rudders. OS: Win10 Home
Darcaem Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 +1 I haven't seen them on 2D, but in VR the effect is odd and scary. Flying low level on a Chinook it tricked my brain into thinking I was flying straight down to the sea 1
