Never mind...found it. Well I turned UAC off and ran as "administrator" but still gives me the same message. 71st_Mastiff Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 looks like a reinstall of Black shark will fix that I had to do that also. PoleCat Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Got to love all those big improvements in Vista. Not installing with UAC enabled. Installing everything as Administrator. Not installing games or programs into the Program Files folder. (The default path for about a million progs/Games. Real Convenient. Takes about a half hour longer and is twice as problematic as just using XP to begin with. I got 4 gaming rigs all dual boot XP/Vista. I use the Vista side to update my drivers under that OS and even though I do have many games installed I have yet to see one under Vista and DX10 that makes me want to use Vista over XP. Has not happend yet. Do not expect Windows 7 to be a whole lot different either, anyone that knows these OS's at all knows also that Win7 is just a re-branded Vista SP2-3. Joe Disable UAC, disable AERO and make sure to install as an administrator. I myself prefer to install programs outside the X86 folder. I have re-installed black shark a few times myself and never run into this issue. Acedy Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 When running Launcher.exe I get the following message: "cannot open .\blackshark\blackshark.lua : No such file or directory" (there is) Do you run the Launcher.exe file from the bin/stable folder? This is not correct and results in the error you describe, you have to start Black Shark using your Desktop icons or start menu entries. EtherealN Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Oh my, I just tested that and indeed that is so. If you are actually starting it from the desktop icons or menu entries, you could check what the shortcuts are set to. Mine are: Target location: stable Target: C:\Games\BlackShark\bin\stable\Launcher.exe --console Start in: C:\Games\BlackShark If the program starts in the stable directory, the Blackshark.lua file will be below it and it won't be able to find it.
