i have a question..

it pertains to lua export, maybe also the cockpit interface packaget...

 

As, you know DCS Black Shark is a sim of High Definition, featuring clickable cockpit, in depth avionics, flight model and the like.

 

SOME OF US HAVE GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND,

to make a simpit beyond that of a 'desktop cockpit'

 

myself i have gone far as as making a collective, cyclic (long shaft), etc..

some fanatics have gone beyond, making the gauges, etc..

 

OK.. the situation.

I play LOMAC.

I have ran into a VERY INTUITIVE UTILITY called "LOVP", lock on virtual panel.

basically, via .lua export, i can get the information of aircraft guages, ranging from HSI, RPM, etc..

THE THING IS COOL!

but..unfortunately, IT IS USELESS!

It does not work when i join a server via Hyperlobby...

I later found out people turn this off, turn off lua export on the server for reasons of fair game play (STOP CHEATERS)

 

I AM NOT A CHEATER.. I JUST WANT TO READ MY GUAGES.

crapola..I CAN NOT even see my guages because of TRIPLEHEAD2Go..(to see my guages, i have to look down, and then look back up to HUD..which really is an incovience..crashed here and there because of it..

would have helped out alot to see my RPM info on my touchbuddy networked PC, instead of panning down..

ANYWAYS, My 'VIRTUAL' gauges are useless...i am shunned out from using this on multiplayer...

 

MY QUESTION..

WILL DCS Black shark Sim pit fanatics FACE THE SAME DILEMNA?

i mean, poor guy that built a pit with functioning guages, ABRIS, and all those cockpit extras, cant use, if .lua export is disabled...

 

i myself would like to build out the apache cockpit for when DCS releases AH64...

BUT ITS POINTLESS IF GUAGES AND STUFF and other networked stuff DOESNT WORK IN MULTIPLAYER!

 

for me, next to the sim itself, its all about the multiplayer...

A software-suit specially for cockpit-builders, with improved lua-options has already been announced by WAGS. It's one of the tools to be released.

i heard about it, it was going to be those "things to come"..

do you have a link to that post by wags?

 

I dont remember him stating anything about networked game sessions / multiplayer...

 

like i said, i just want to play multiplayer with a full setup up..guages , ABRIS (on a networked PC), SHKVAL (on a networked PC), and anything else that would make use of .lua

Physical Cockpit Interface Package (PCIP). This package provides support to cockpit builders and allows them to more efficiently, and with great depth of capability, to port systems simulated in software to their physical cockpits. This includes support to various projection systems.

yes, but at the same time, i hope it WILL NOT BE LIMITED...

i hate to see it like .lua export...

some one turns it off, and the whole thing is useless.

 

i understand .lua export being turned off for limiting cheaters..

but it sux you can not use info like guages...

 

i like to use ported systems simulated to be used in ALL or MOST multiplayer game sessions!

 

CAN SOME ONE FROM ED/TFC/DCS comment...

Readings of gauges are enough for cheating alone. The same data, which is fed to your cockpit, can be fed to custom written software, which can act as inertial navigation/datalink system: knowing the start coordinates and constantly reading gauges in small enough intervals, aircraft position can be determined precisely and sent to team mates. This is why there are means to disable .lua exports.

i know..thats what the reality is...

 

i like ED TFC DCS to say this themselves.

 

its pretty much going to be like LOMAC, which for me means, why waste the time to make guages, unless you like SINGLEPLAYER, or few to some multiplayer that done turn off .lua export (which most likely be none, if you want to play against good players)
