ddc196 Posted March 4, 2024 Posted March 4, 2024 I'd love to see a bunch more WW2 content. A P-38 would work in both ETO and PTO. I'd also love to see a flyable multicrew aircraft like the B-17 or Lancaster. I know, that's asking a lot. And I don't think you can have too much BoB. 1 Intel i9-14900KF - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 - 64GB 3200 - Win 11 - 4 TB SSD (game drive) - Quest 3.

Aernov Posted March 5, 2024 Posted March 5, 2024 P-39 with 2-3 modifications would work for both western (kinda) and eastern European fronts and for Pacific/Asian region.

Since it doesn't appear any of the bombers attacks were intercepted by German aircraft. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.

I have read various things from fuel shortages, antipathy between the Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe leading to poor co-ordination and infiltration of fighter control by Norwegian resistance. Whatever, none of the daylight attacks on the Tirpitz in Norway seem to have faced strong Luftwaffe opposition.

I'm guessing those stationed in Norway by 43/44 mostly tried to keep their heads down and hope to surive until wars end. And where probably very happy that the whole fortress Norway as the last holdout didn't happen. Except for RAF raids and the odd Resistance attack that caused German casualties. It was probably the safest place to be a German the last years of the war. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
Cunctator Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 All of the RN FAA air attacks against the Tirpitz were planed and carried out with the element of surprise as a crucial part of the plan. Once the smokescreen obscured the Tirpitz in the narrow fjord the probability to hit the ship was far to low. There was no time for the Germans to scramble fighters and intercept the raids except by chance.
