Somehow in the move to Win 11 and a major update from an older install of DCS my installation seems messed up. Neither Eagle Dynamics nor DCS appear in the start menu. And DCS does not appear in the Windows Apps list or in the Windows Apps install/uninstall window. There is not Repair or Cleanup option that I can find. Everything has been working fine in the sim except I can't get any response from the Tower to any radio request. I think I need to uninstall and start fresh but everything I find talks about cleanup and repair. What do I do?

I am using DCS 2.9

It's explained over here:

Alternative way if you don't like fiddling with cmd window or powershell - google for Skatezilla's GUI updater utility, download and install that one. It will allow you to do the same operations but by pressing buttons rather than typing commands.

6,000+ posts and the best you can do is "Read This." Sheesh.

Okay, I read that and I'm still stumped. I want to do a repair but I can't find the powershell to enter the command. Where is it??? Simple steps please.

Exceptional engineering...and a large hammer to make it fit!

Okay. Figured it out:

Go into your  ...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin folder.

There, hold Left Shift and right click and click "Open Command window here."

Then type: ".\DCS_updater.exe repair" in the command window and hit Enter.

Let it run and you should be good to go.

I haven't reinstalled (or moved) Windows or DCS in 5 years, all my DCS start menu shortcuts are still there and thus I haven't used the cmd typing method for even longer. So excuse me for simply not knowing them like the back of my hand and not being able to spoon feed spoiled brats.

At least I remember there's a thread with official guide (the one linked above) and If/when I have to use it again someday, well, tough luck, I will do my homework and try to figure it out one more time like anyone else.

Honestly glad to see you've got the problem sorted though.

He actually gave good advice. No need to NOT use Skatezilla's tool.
And BTW. It's not a Powershell command.
