Can't fire IRMV even locked/Pickle button broken?

Cannot fire IRMV even got a lock.No matter how many times I press the pickle button nothing happens.

Like the screen shots below,in that time when I press the pickle button the missile SHOULD be launched but instead nothing happened at all.

Things checked:

· Keybind correct and stick is doing well(setup: VKB SCG for stick and STECS for throttle)

· Nozzle fully AFT (0 deg)

· A/G master mode

· STRS page:

  IRMV selected, cooldown complete(RDY comfirmed above TONE) 

  MODE AGM FUZE D1
  QTY 1 MULT 1 (default setting)

· MASTER ARM ON

· On IRMV view:

  SHIP not selected

  White heat
I've tried to strictly follow the launch procedure written in manual but it just won't work.So I think the only problem is with the pickle button.

Is this a bug or something?

I was firing IR Mavs yesterday without issue, so it's unlikely to be a bug, can you share a short track file demonstrating the issue.

Here‘s a simple demo.

Note that after IN RNG symbol appears on HUD I pressed the pickle botton(or the button I bind to it on my stick IRL) several times but still nothing happened.

And the mission used is a simple practice mission made by myself,don't know if it's related to this problem so I've put it on here too.

PS: the trigger (used for guns and aim9) also won't work either

IRMV image has to be on left screen to pickle.

I think its an issue with the DMT mode not locking and causing the issue sometimes with the IRMV. also texture issues, the polarity on the texture isn't right? locks on the ground before it even wants to lock the vehicle or could be a heat signature issue with the textures in the IRMV. or it bugged and Razbam needs to further investigate I'm still have the same issue sometimes locks and some time just locks inches to the object and not really locked.

Maybe there are some problems with my launching procedure? Like there were any additional steps after getting a lock and IN RNG appears? I've tried the same scene for more like 30 times already then all got the same result. I also tried different approach parameters or launch angle but that didn't work either.The missile won't launch, just like the pickle button is broken.

Could you give some tips on this so i can try some?

Briefly. I took over your demo.

Wheels up, arm, arm mav, A/G, speed off, Attitude hold shallow dive quickly as possible, to gain time and steady aim.

Action no action to create diamond. Slew near target.

Open mav in left screen and make soi. Slew mav over target. Auto lock was about 6 nm.

Shoot. Boom.

Do exactly what you did this time the missile still not fire but I head BEEP when I press pickle button after locked.What's that?

I get the same as you until I alter it.

Keep it simple for practice. Try this.

No tgt pod. DMT only. 1 runway. 1 tgt.

When I watch your .trk, I see your nozzles are forward by about 40 degrees. You can't fire weapons with the Nozzles that far forward. I think 20 degrees is the max, but best to be at 0.

 

The BEEP on pickle is due to TONE boxed on the STRS  page

Yes, he starts with wheels and nozzle down, but even when I raise them after his lock, I still can't get it to shoot and only get the tone.

If I use action button twice, I can move the cursor, lock on any target as normal, but as you say, the nozzle should be up.

I saw a similar thing when taking over the track. I think it is something odd with the sequence of events here...because when I cycled the MAV seeker to INS and then Back to IRMV, made sure the target was locked, it fired normally, and I could lock another target  with the same sequence (UNCAGE/IRMV/LOCK)and fire normally. 

It SHOULDN'T MATTER, but this is DCS after all.... if everything is in constraints (gear/nozzles) BEFORE you got to IRMV and  the seeker locks, everything should work fine.

Well I tried few more times with all the things checked (NOZ 0/GEAR UP/TONE not selected etc.) still can't fire the missile.

Only weird thing is that sometimes(not always, about 3 of 10) although the crosshair shows the missile locked but the crosshair is offset from the target a few distance away.

So the problem is with my client then. I guess, maybe in my client, the seeker is actually locked somewhere on the ground instead of target's heat source? I was told by the system that missile is locked and can be fired but actually it's not locked yet. Like71st_Mastiff said:

But this is strange because I can't fire missile on moving targets either although I'm sure that seeker is tracking correctly.

Your seeker is locked on the ground just behind the tank.

I created a mission identical as yours and it all worked perfectly, as you would expect, including the moving tank.

Ditch that mission and create a new one.

@Estamel_Ter @71st_Mastiff Did you tried a DCS repair? Maybe the problem is not the AV-8B module, because if I fly your .miz everything works as espected, but if I take control of your .trk the reticle locks on points without IR signature and I can no longer fire the Mav's, I suspect that the mission gets corrupted when loaded and the track keeps the corruption.

Ok, I've been having this problem since I bought the Harrier about 2 years ago. I'm thinking there's some conflict with my HOTAS. I've basically given up on the Harrier and retry it every update but so far, firing IR Mavs is unreliable at best, doesn't work at all at worst. 

I've tried removing all my mods but that doesn't help. When I can be bothered, I'll reset all my bindings and try again but it's been so damn frustrating that I just hate the plane now and the campaigns I've bought are all done up until an IR Mav is  needed, then I abandon it.

 

EDIT: Problem solved! For me, anyway. I reset all the bindings and reloaded from externally saved files. Things still don't always work with the supplied tutorials, but Campaigns, missions, stuff I whip up myself - they are all working like a dream. The Harrier is a joy to 'fly' now. Maybe the tutorials are so old now (some of the instructions are waaay out of date) that they still trigger the problem somehow, but I can live with that. The Harrier is, right at this point in time, my favourite fly-by-wire jet.
