Smart weapon Delivery Mode - AUTO or Direct?

Manual
Page 484: "the direct mode is mostly used for smart weapons that require lock on target."
Page 552: "For smart weapons delivery it is advised to select AUTO mode."

So for the JDAMS what do you have to take? I'm just getting used to the F-15E, so I don't have any experience here yet.

Technically, it's your plane so you can use either

Notso said DIRECT is more practical, since you can release at any time

I use DIRECT.

 

just test them out and see which one you like more

I use direct always, since I can just drop them whenever I want. AUTO wants me to fly way too close, hehe.

Typically - Direct.

I only really use Auto with JDAMS when I intend to LOFT them from max range.
