Septi Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 The issue probably happened with the last update (I recall VR working in DCS just fine 1-2 weeks ago). I can't get DCS to launch in VR at all anymore. If I try to launch MT Preview, it always launches flat-screen (the window appears to be sized for VR but doesn't show VR view, i.e., is flat and doesn't move with my head, see screenshot 1). I also tried adding --force_enable_VR and --force_OpenXR to the command line and using "Launch MT Preview in Steam VR mode" options, to no avail. If I launch it without MT Preview, but in Steam VR mode, it launches Steam VR, and the window shows proper VR view, but my headset doesn't show the view from the game (see screenshot 2). OS Windows 10, headset HP Reverb G2, DCS openbeta Steam version Can you help me please?
kendoric2 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 I was having the same issue , but for me opening it straight from steam and selecting the Steam VR multithread option works like a charm

Solution Septi Posted April 7, 2024 Author Solution Posted April 7, 2024 Fixed it. Appears there were two problems here: OpenXR runtime was set to WMR. For some reason, because of this, MT Preview always started in the flat screen mode. Runtime can be reset to SteamVR from the SteamVR settings (accessible from the SteamVR status window). I'm actually not 100% sure this step was necessary, because after it, MT Preview still had the same problem it had for me: no picture rendered in the headset. A second display was connected to a different GPU than my VR was. I'm using an HDMI dummy plug to fake having multiple displays when I'm working in VR. Pulling it out and only having one display connected to the same GPU VR was connected to solved the issue for me. Maybe wrong display and so wrong GPU was assigned to DCS somehow? 1
