Technically, no. However the Ground Self-Defense Forces spent a number of years in Samawa, Iraq doing humanitarian work. They were armed, but they were escorted by Australian (and Dutch? Danish? The people from Holland....) forces, since the Japanese constitution forbids engaging any enemy unless on Japanese soil.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

If I recall, the F-2 is one of the most expensive fighter jets around.. something like 2nd to the F-22

What makes it so expensive?

It was redesigned to be much more in composite materials than its F-16 older brother, and required extensive re-engineering. Its also heavily subcontracted both in japan and in the US for parts manufacture. Its production run is low and investment for tooling and engineering very high. The costs are spread in fewer aircraft.

And it has a set of entirely new avionics including an AESA radar which at the time of induction was an innovation.

2:36 - I hope that someone explains the meaning of a red cross to them before they go to combat

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

Is there any difference on the Japanese AH-64D and U.S.'s?

The difference in the cost is clear, but I haven`t seen a comparison between the american and the japanese Longbow. I even don`t know what block the japanese ones are.

I highly doubt they will need explanation, they are just shooting at a target that happens to have a red cross. Besides, not all ambulances are mark with red crosses.
