Hi All, I'm new to the forum and just picked up the boxed version of BS. Let alone the complex nature of the simulator- I am having trouble even figuring out the views. It seems sometimes in the training missions (after they complete and I take over) the mouse will move the view around. I like this, but it seems I can't figure out how to do it sometimes if it's not on by default?

Also, is there a free flight mission where I can just sit on the ramp and play with the cockpit (narrowly avoided the inuendo there :) )?

Thanks

Alt-c switches between cursor mode and "view around" mode

Load the "Shooting Range" mission. It's free of enemies, starts you on the ground with a cold cockpit, and there's a target range.

Thanks! That's perfect. I've noticed too that after I take over a training mission the mouselook is enabled, and the little cursor is there, so I can click stuff without going back to non-mouselook. Is that a bug or a different view?

That's a bug which will be implemented as a feature in the upcoming patch.

I hope they keep the actual behaviour too. I don't want to have a crossair in front of my view all the time. I prefer to alt-c whenever I need it.

it's a real shame people don't properly search the forums for these kinds of things before posting. There are numerous threads that discuss this exact matter.

Remember people, the forums has been here for very long and if you ever have a problem/question that you'd like to post a thread about, someone else most likely beat you to it ;)

That said, I thought I just make it clear that it is LEFT Alt + C that alternates viewmodes between "clickable" and "mouselook"

Jep, that's true, but if i wanna play mouselook + clickable cockpit i press esc 2 times. But there is soundproblems in that view too, if i press esc 2 times my cockpitsounds is like a outside view, when in F1 view, it's sounds normal.

I think that's unrelated to hitting Esc twice. I have that sound bug consistently in every mission. What seems to trigger it for me is hitting pause (even when initially beginning the mission). You can fix the cockpit sound volume by either opening and closing the door, or going to F2 view and back again. There're probably more ways to do it, but those are the two ways I fix it...
