i think they have something backwards from what i just read in the doc i found. it does have 2 settings VT1 and VT 2. in the jet VT1 gives you the option to set HOF but the bomb dispenses right after release. VT 2 does not allow you to set HOF but the bomb does appear to use the prox fuze. but since you can't select the HOF it is not accurate

Hi,

please PM me if you have evidence something is wrong, its important to add a short track replay example of its use here also when creating a bug report.

Please remember our 1.16 forum rule.

Already reported in this thread and two short tracks provided:

I only tested with VT1 and noticed the burst altitude set in ME not being honored. Didn't formally test VT2, though.

I'm seeing the same.  BRU-33's on STA 2 and 8 with 2xCBU-99 each.  FMU-140 fuse with a 1.2 s arm and a 500' HAT selected both in the mission planner and then once in the aircraft (F/18C).  On multiple runs, the cannister opens immediately after release regardless of HT setting.  This obviously effects bomblet dispersal and accuracy making this weapon useless I'm afraid.

As a side note, ED seems to have gone down quite the rabbit hole with this update.  I'm not sure the new fuse functionality effort is worth the benefit frankly.  I flew Super Hornets about 20 years ago and fuse selection was largely a matter left for the ordies to deal with.  As pilots, we mostly just preflighted the weapons and made sure the fuses were present and the arming wires connected to the BRU as intended.  Any delay fusing for more complex target sets required delving into some very nuanced software which we rarely did.  On rare occasions when we might have gone after a hardened structure, there were targeteers whose sole job was to come up with the best weapon/fuse combo.  In short, by adding this functionality, DCS pilots are now also being asked to learn fusing and some degree of weaponeering, which - without the appropriate (and classified) tactical manuals and software - is a big ask.  I'd recommend offering an "easy fuse" option for those not interested in getting into the weeds in this subject area.  I anticipate a lot of frustrated virtual pilots wondering why their weapons didn't operate as intended.

-Are you making a fresh mission or using an existing one? There is a current bug relating to old missions before the fusing update.
-Are selecting VT1 or VT2 in MFUZ. VT1 uses HOF and VT2 uses the secondary TOF option. The order was corrected in subsequent patches after this report was made
-Are you touching EFUZ? It's a bug that it's there with the CBU-99 and should not be there. If you don't leave it off it'll dud your bombs

The arming time is also lying to right now as you'd think it was for the VT2 time option but it's not working as such. It's acting like an arming delay, which shouldn't exist as the FMU-140 does not have one. So VT2 is locked to 1.2 seconds.

Thanks Muchocracker.  I was using an existing mission but I suspect the main issue was that I was on the previous version that hadn't yet incorporated the patch.  The VT1 seems to be working as advertised.

On a related note, although the CBU series were not known for their accuracy, they seem to have few (if any) effects on the DMPI.  Whether bombing in AUTO (always preferred) or CCIP, the miss distances seem to be pretty substantial - in the hundreds of feet.  I'll provide some screen shots and trk files to illustrate when I have some more time, but at least we're trending in the right direction now!

Yeah that's gonna be a side effect of the old miz file using the old bomb config and it screws with the hornet avionics. In my previous tests they were hitting fine providing you had new bombs and matched the height setting on the bomb in your SMS. I'll watch the track you post and see what's up.
