Hiya for some reason when i go into instant action for the f4 phantom and click free flight, when i click start and im already airborn my jet is powered down and just nose dives?

If i start from cold and get the computer to start the jet in instant action section, it all starts up fine and goes through all the proceedures but when i start to taxi forward i noticed the rudder peddals move the rudder but not the noes wheel steering, so i pulled the throttles back and the jet cut out.... what am i doing wrong? My fa18C and f15E work fine?

Ive set up my hotas and pedals (thrust master) with throttles, air brake, flaps, comms, joystick and rudder pedals... but am i missing something?

I have to be honest, this post doesn't have any flow at all.
But anyways, what do you mean by 'powered down'? Like idle throttle, or 'my engines are off please help'?

In the former, just use your throttle to increase thrust.
In the latter, that needs to be fixed.

For the second problem,

Did you map your controls properly?
Also, here is the F-4 manual:https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/procedures/taxi.html
Specifically the part on taxiing. You do need to engage NWS in order to taxi. The F/A-18C, (The only other thing I fly right now.) doesn't  have you push any buttons to start NWS, but you still have to map a button for the NWS HI mode, so that should be in order as well before you taxi.

Also what is the point of using auto start and then finding out that the plane isn't fully prepared? I feel like that should have been self explanatory that, auto start, really only starts the engines, and does very little after that, even on the F/A-18C.

Edit: This is also the general bug section, which probably won't land you with fast responses from people who fly the F-4, you should probably have it moved to the F-4 subsection.

So i was talking about it in the f4 section and got told to do a thread in here?

I just wanted to have a fly around but even on that section starting in instant action where the jet is all powered up mid air my engines are actually off.

Ill go over the mapping again but its all working in the dcs command section

may or may not be your issue but I have the warthog throttle and the buttons I think 29 & 30 were mapped so when the throttle was at idle it was cutting the engines off, only happened when advancing them returning to idle both would cutout. clearing those two buttons allowed me to go back to idle normally.

Regarding the F-4 nose wheel steering issue. Did you bind a button to your joystick? The nose wheel steering button? If you did, you need to press and hold it, while taaxing.

No ive not bind the nose wheel steering at all yet. This will probably be my issue.
