cheg Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Hi, So I noticed after the last update that the autostart script for the F16 has a weird thing where when it comes to INS Knob - NAV it leaves it there (even tho i have noticed it "confirms the LAT and LNG" with an enter, but the knob is left on the ALIGN mode. So I checked the Macro_sequencies.lua and it seems that part is commented out. So I'm wondering is this intended or? null
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted June 7, 2024 ED Team Posted June 7, 2024 Hi this is intended, you will need to switch from align once the alignment process is completed. thank you 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? I'd expect the autostart assist, to get the aircraft "taxi ready" But that's just my opinion. 1 System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH

I don't use it as much (even tho im fairly new to the game), but sometimes its convenient if i wanna grab a coffee But for new people it is confusing i think. As you said, it is implied that its "taxi ready"... Or maybe add a bit more instructions there and mention to the player that they need to finalize the alignment... Edited June 7, 2024 by cheg
rob10 Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I could be wrong (haven't flown the F-16 in a while), but I presume that's because there is a delay before the alignment process completes (as BigNewy alluded to) which could equally cause confusion when it changed the switch. 1

The autostart should include full ins alignment imo. They could easily add a message saying -ins alignment in progress- Then, when it's done the switch goes to nav and autostart is complete. The only autostart I remember to have used, was in the AV8B, and iirc in that module ins alignment is part of autostart. 1 System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
