Bmcintosh19 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 So its a hot start in the air and when creating markpoints it seems like it goes through the objects and underground, tried using the laser to get proper distance but still markpoint is off and after cycling through waypoints it seems to get worse. Furiz Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Hey @Bmcintosh19, TGP drifts cause its in INR track mode, and if you place the crosshair on a vehicle it will make the mark through it till it hits the ground. But I see your point, mark point seems to be a little bit behind the targeted area and few feet underground.
Bmcintosh19 Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 @Furiz So is there a way to get an accurate mark point for dropping gps bombs? Why would the mark point be drifiting? Tried this again while trying to be over top of the mark point I'm trying to make and getting the same result, mark point is off by at least 10 meters.
Bmcintosh19 Posted June 11, 2024 Author Posted June 11, 2024 Apparently eagle dynamics says a mark point instantly moving 10m after cycling markpoints 3 minutes into a hot start in the air is "Correct As Is". Classic....
ED Team Solution Lord Vader Posted June 11, 2024 ED Team Solution Posted June 11, 2024 Hi @Bmcintosh19 Steerpoints and markpoints will be affected by INS drift in regards to TGP SPI tracking. You also need to pay attention to perspectives and parallax errors. Furthermore, INS drift with GPS available is not more or less degraded over time, it degrades through various factors but self corrects, since the Kalman filter will begin to make corrections immediately according to GPS raw data. If you read our white paper you will understand the GPS data is very noisy, creating constant errors and corrections that are even visible if you zoom in with the TGP. 1 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
