It would be a great feature to be able to have runway repair teams, both for modern scenarios and WW2.

The mission editor should allow this, so that a repair team can remove damaged planes and fix bomb craters.

This is an interesting idea. I'm not sure if there is an event that tags if a runway has been damaged, or a way to determine that. If so, a bit of LUA code could spawn in a few trucks, have them drive up and down the runways and nearby areas I would imagine without too much difficulty. The one thing I'm unsure of is if there is an easy way to detect whether a runway has been damaged, or whether it would be a matter of defining zones / manual areas and monitoring each single ground impact.

Players would need some control over them.Some aircraft have rough field and STOL capability and would be able to operate from less than ideal runways. It would become a negative if trucks drove out on to the runway unannounced and disrupted these aircraft. Their presence would also need to be communicated to any aircraft that might use the runway, so this would need to be integrated into ATC at least.

One of the issues is AI that will not use a runway that is damaged at all. this really can mess with a mission builder.
