Snow-Bird Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Lasers seem to hit allways the ground and are not hitting Objects on their track. I wanted to destroy the shipcranes on a dock. But the missiles just keep spashing into the water instead of hitting the thin i aim at. Tried multiple position, altitudes and angles. I mada a highly sophisticated drawing of the situation, its attached.
JetCat Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 This is not an Apache bug, but a few objects on the scenery don´t have a simulated hitbox or damage model. 1

ED Team Lord Vader Posted June 21, 2024 ED Team Posted June 21, 2024 Hi @Snow-Bird This is indeed something that is not exclusive to the AH-64D. Some scenery objects, including some scenery mods, are not "hard" surfaces in the simulation and they don't have a collision model to reflect radar or laser beams. The rule of thumb is, always designate to the base of the objects to guarantee a hit. Oh, and I must rectify the title you chose for this topic. It's not "always hitting the ground behind", like I said, it depends on the objects your choose. 1 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord

Snow-Bird Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 I tried designating the Pier below. No luck, the HF just goes in the water behind. Seems like the Pier and the Crane are made of the same "stuff". Kinda weird that they have a collision hitbox but not ha hitbox fot the laser though 1
