Thanks for bringing this up. I fly this simulator, and so does my young daughter (on a separate account of her own). I've been waiting on the Navy version of the F4 module, so haven't purchased it for us yet. (We both love our carrier ops). I thought DCS being a simulator, would be free from this sort of content. This is not something I want in a simulator - especially for my daughter.

If other people want it left in, that's fine for them, but I really hope HB consider this, and at least give an option for removing cussing (and swearing if that exists too please) out of Jester's vocabulary in a future update.

I would also request that in the mean time, a language content warning be placed on the sale page too. This will give people the option before they purchase to choose which I think is in everyone's best interest as it would avoid these sorts of arguments and complaints.

What makes it more annoying is that he always seems to tell me I’m “out of my GD mind” when I’m actually ON the runway taking off. Apparently he doesn’t realize we aren’t going to taxi down the active and drive to the target

I served with Atheists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Wiccans, a Druid, a few hard core Satanists, and a mix of others.  The underlying theme amongst all of them was a respect and tolerance for avoiding using G-d's name in vain in the presence of others.  Regardless their personal beliefs they held to this ideal, still letting fly all other manner of swearing routinely.  That integrity spanned 25 years of service.

This is the difference between the warriors of the past and the hearts of men today.  It is not on the messenger or even the message that is the issue.  It is the hearts of the receivers who would not hear the message.

"Swear" words aren't even categorized as "taking the Lord's name in vain" if you actually read the Bible. Using God's name to preach incorrect gospel, however, is.

Which doesn't even matter, because we live in a real world where real people use such language all the time. Anyone who thinks kids/teens shouldn't be exposed to this is abusive and lazy, as kids/teens will eventually encounter it anyway and need to be taught early on that perhaps they shouldn't use such language in specific contexts for specific, non-religious reasons (like professionalism, etc.), but other people do use such language as a personal choice.

Calling anyone who raises their kids on different values to yours as being abusive and lazy parents is an arrogant and offensive statement. If you want to argue a place for having swearing, cursing, etc in DCS or an ED module - debate the point on it's merits- leave the personal attacks against people who's values differ to yours out of it. This is not a place for telling others how to raise their children, nor a place for bigotry statements (in the real use of the term) by accusing them of being abusive parents because your values and beliefs are opposed to theirs.

This is my new favorite post on this website, anyway here's a laundry list of military aircrew saying far worse than light profanities both in and out of combat off the top of my head:

Second Gulf of Sidra incident, I think everyone here has heard Beads yelling about not having a f☺️cking tone at LEAST once now

F-4E supersonic guns kill on a MiG-19, if you want something more period correct

F-4 ejection over the north sea

RF-4C shot down by SAM, friendly warning this one's a fair bit more intense than the others

F-4 after shooting down a MiG-21

F-105 wild weasels in the thick of it, gotta love the that sh☺️t hot call

TURN THE HEAT OFF, yeah...

IFF DB-3, saved the best for last, kills me every time

Folks the DCS forum is not the place to have religious discussions.

The OP has given feedback and I am sure HB will read it, but this thread is done.

thank you
