MAXsenna Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Yes ,I've done that as well. Thanks. Why not just get rid of Norton and start using Defender, included with Windows. It's better and simpler. Will give you a lot less grief.Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1
BJ55 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Defender does little compared to other suites and win firewall is totally useless. @Christopher Staples you can exclude the entire "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta" from detections, this will also improve DCS performance a little. (I also exclude C:\users\...\saved games\DCS folder for speed up metasheders and fxo loading) 1 I7-12700F, 64GB DDR4 XMP1 3000MHz, Asus Z670M, MSI RTX 3070 2560x1440 60Hz, TIR 5, TM WH VPC base, TM rudder, Win10 Pro
Christopher Staples Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 It's sorted now (hopefully!!!) . A big Thank you to you all for taking the time to answer my questions. It's great to be back in the beast. 3
MurrayCod Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Thanks also to BJ55 for posting the link to the Auto Protect and Behavioral protection thread. Now that I have set up the exclusions in Norton AV as described I am also back in the cockpit flying the Phantom 3
E69_Frajo Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Hi everyone. I have the same problem with Kaspersky. I included the three files mentioned by Zabuzard as exclusions (DCS.EXE,DCS_updater.exe and F-4E), but to no positive result. I still cannot fly the Phantom. It's disabled. Any of you can lend my a hand with the equivalent Norton Auto-Protect and Behavioral Protection in Kaspersky? Thank you so much in advance

You have created the exclusions, but this does not recover any file previously quarantined by the AV, need to run a DCS_Updater repair to recover the missing files. You might also consider uninstalling those Anti-Virus solutions and just use Defender included with Windows for free. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
E69_Frajo Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Obviously you were both right. After performing the repair the Phantom is back in the flight line. Thank you very much. 3
